Hi Fizzle
I have done that one before ... I found that a lot of the back stitch could be left outwhen I tried to put it all on I found that it looked really messy and camouflaged a lot of the stitching -So I bet you will find lots of bits that can be left off.... after all back stitch is the devils stitch :rotfl:
I did all of tatties fluffy bits though :A :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I've done 2 Tatty Teds-I have never sworn so much in my life!! They looked great when done, but all that backstitch....what a nightmare! I did it on evenweave, which was far easier, but still....
I actually don't mind backstitch too much. French knots are my bug bear. I've just finished a card for my mum. It used Light Effect threads-metallics, basically, and was more work than it looked. It was getting very annoyed in the end, but usually I'm still stitching her xmas card on the train home and until the late hours on xmas eve, so pleased it's done and out of the way. Still have Grandma's Lizzie Kate 'Winter' snippit to do. Found the chart, but need to dig out the fabric & threads, which I can't get to because my suitcase is lying on the floor in the spare room (nearly packed!) and I can't get to my craft cupboards. Will *have* to do this tomorrow coz my train is Tuesday. Why have I left it so late??????Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I love even weave ..aida is a pain an linen makes me moan too
I hate french knots too -where possible I use seed beads instead
I don't mind fractional stitches or blending threads either..but back stitch and french knots
I have just got quite a lot of those light effect bracelets to x stitch with the metallic threads -to do in between the big projects Im doing.... although Im thinking of giving some of the kits as gifts :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Seed beads-great tip! I do this a lot. Works great for making eyes anyway.
Light effects are a pain, so I would give them away if I was you. You might be ok stitching with them though. And they do look good-all sparkly...
Will post a pic of the card when I have the energy to find the camera.:DCross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

That defo sounds like the best idea! Lol I hate French knots too but i thought that was just me, glad i'm not alone lol
Yeah I find the Tatty Teddy's to be so much work, but my last one did look good when completed. Made a little santa one and have put it into a nice little card to give to my gran for xmas. She loves all the little cross stitched things I used to make her in the past lolComping Fairy bring some luck my way! :dance:Love my Fiance Spiceboy :happyhear:iloveyou:0 -
I am hopeless with french knots, so thanks for the tip - anyone know a good place to buy seed beads? Thanks"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

Happy Christmas to all you lovely stitchers!
I had so many good intentions of things I was going to stitch for christmas but time hasn't been on my side. I am thinking of starting my stitching for next Christmas in January and spreading it across the year.
