ark, you'd stand about 20 minutes of it and send him straight back!donny-gal wrote:Just wonder how much housework, ironing, cooking, gardening I can negotiate to take on some teenagers, and enjoy a talkative 8 yo? ? ?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
donny-gal, I know that I should enjoy him and most of the time I do, just today he hasn't stopped since 8am. :wall: My lack of patience has nothing to do with the bottle of wine I consumed last night of course.
Anyone know what car Lewis Hamilton drives? And while I'm at it, during the war how did they know to start the sirens so that people could go and hide in the air-raid shelters, and what size is a jumbo jet's engine?I could go on, and on, and on...._pale_

Afternoon all,
Happy Birthday Charlies_mum :bdaycake:
((((HUGS)))) for N9eav - thats truly awful!
Beetheebee, Arkonite, Hester - sounds like you need plenty of ((((HUGS)))) too!
Have a nice afternoon at the party Mioliere.
Welcome to all the newbies too!
For those with problem teenagers i have to agree with Donnygal`s way of doing things, it would drive me insane lol you`ve all got my sympathy.
It`s times like this that i`m glad we have a house full of animals instead
Well i`ve finished moving the patio circle in the back garden, it`s taken well over a week to do and it`s not completely level but it`s where i wanted it so i`m not complaining. When the gardens finished it will have the furniture standing on it so it needn`t be perfect.:D
If DH had moved it i`m afraid it would have been far worse as he is even worse than me at things like this, it`s just that i`ve got more patience lol.
I`m completely bushed now and i`ve realised that i forgot to put the pork in the slowcooker this morning  i`ll have to find something else for tea later now.
Right my cuppa is finished so i`d best go back out and put all the tools away then i can start in the kitchen hopefully.
Have a good afternoon peeps
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
afternoon already!!! i have read through the thread with one eye on the girls to sort out disputes, and i feel very boring now. with regards to teenagers and talkative 8 year olds, can i throw a grumpy 6 year old, a tired tantrummy 3 year old and ateething 10 month old into the equation please? actually, now the tooth has come through the baby seems much happier, so i may keep her.
today i have ferried number one daughter to dance class, done 3 loads of washing, made butternut squash soup for lunch and yogurt cake and bread pudding (my favourite). we are now having a quiet moment (allegedly) watching some barbie rubbish on tv before we set off for the eldest one's swimming lessons this afternoon. i am sure i had a life above and beyond child chauffeur, but i cant remember it.
mr gin is back from a few days working away in the wee small hours tomorrow, but i have a kiddies party to attend tomorrow afternoon (note to self : must buy present) and church in the morning so we probably wont see much of each other before he goes away for the week next week. still it stops the arguing, doesn't it?
hope everyone has a happy bank holiday weekend.0 -
 DH and I have just got back from visiting the house:eek: OMG we don't know where to start, how the hell did she manage to get so many wine splashes on the CEILING!!
There are so many cigarete burns and the place stinks, with rubish everywhere, I wanted to cry.
We bought the house when it was built 10yrs ago, the first tennant kept it spotless. All the furniture and carpets were brand new and looked the same when she left. Now it's a midden.
MELVIS, MIOLIERE, I haven't seen the film In Her Shoes but am tempted to rent it.
SQIDDLEY, I'm not angry but hurt, suppose it would be easier if I could be.
Many many thanks to all of you who have : wished me well with the op, comisserated about my Sister, and liked my post last night.
Off to the carpet shop now as they were closed for lunch.
Need to get a skip ordered as the garden is full of my broken/burnt/wet furniture.0 -
betheebee sorry your sister has mistreated your house and kindness......
Washing all done and hung out, first load is now dry and back in waiting to be ironed.
Been potting / spliting on my plants and now have another 45 (I think) to sell on at a car boot, have to go to local garden centre and see what they are charging then owrk out my price, a local freecycler gave me a 'bag full' of pots there must have been at least 200 in that bag!!
Off for a sleep now, then off out tonight with friends in Sheffield, not been there for ages, but going to cost a bit in petrol to get there.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I was planning on going to Tesco and getting some charcoal/food/drinks for us to have a BBQ this evening but have just realised OH still has my bank card in his coat pocket and he's gone out to help his friend moving stuff. He's left his mobile here charging so I have no idea what time he'll be back! :rolleyes:Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0
