HI Beth - that will teach me to read the thread too fast! I've just found your post and want to wish you all the best for the ops; I'm so pleased the waiting is over and will be thinking about you.

I can't believe the trouble you've had with your sister as atenant. I watched 'In Her Shoes' the other night and it was the first time my DH has ever found Cameron Diaz irritating! Normally, he's drooling when she's on. I missed the end of the film (did my usual falling asleep trick - I never watch a complete programme from start to finish, these days) but for most of it she was the sister from hell! I do hope you can get something sorted out - you shouldn't be left with the burden of worrying about the rent and the mess she has left.

Anyway, off to prep the veggies for tomorrow's dinner. No cooking tonight because we will be out - yay!

I can't believe that in my last post I said I had almost run of words and I just found a whole load more!

    I'll get me coat!

Anyone want a grumpy teenager
No thanks, I've got 2 of my own

Last night, one of them got drunk and then had to take today off work to go to A&E because his hand is swollen (messing around at the skate park). The other phoned at 4am, she'd woken up and decided she didn't want to stay with her friend and could mr tru pick her up?

Mine is grumped because she got caught with her room in a mess. Dirty stuff under the bed, rubbish and a load more. Her Dad told her she was to stay at home today to sort it out but her wee sis has just squealed on her and told me she's off to town on the 12.45 bus

    I hate being a step-mum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    sorry, rant over :o

ark, right now I would happily swap you for an extremely lively, cheerful, talkatave eight year old who keeps asking questions that I don't know the answers to! :D

Aussie nephew and his wife are coping day to day. They are talking about the baby, which is good. Nephew says he wakes up in the morning and for the first few seconds all is well with the world then it hits him. Thanks for asking about them. I'm hoping to see them when we are in Scotland. DSis has texted me to say that a party has been organised for tonight for DD's birthday (which is on Wednesday) so hopefully we will see them tonight.

Hello and welcome to the newbies!

Seems there's a lot going on today. Too much to post individually so (((hugs))) and/or :j where needed. xx

    Morning all,

mrs mix, I'm glad the funeral went as well as could be expected. What you're feeling sounds very normal to me. xx
    stefejb, enjoy your days off.
betheebee, I'm so glad for you that something is going to be done to help.
squiggly, enjoy your meal out this evening.
busygirl, have a great night tonight and enjoy dressing up.
ivyleaf, make sure to make an appointment with your gp.
anniebooklover, I'm glad that your nephew and his wife seem to be coping.
charlies_mum, have a great day! :bdaycake:

I'm sure there must be loads more that I've forgotten but my mind's gone blank...sorry if I've missed you. xx

A late start for me today on the pc...woke at 7.30am when dd went to her Saturday job and couldn't get back to sleep. Unfortunately I haven't achieved much...some pottering around and tidying up but that's about it. :o

Plans for the day are to get four new tyres on the car (ouch!) and then maybe go to homebase as it's 10% day and our barbeque is on it's last legs. The weather was cold and overcast this morning but it looks as though it may be beginning to brighten up now so I may get some of the repotting done in the garden that I've been putting off for a few days.

Barbeque for tea...just need to work out who's home and who isn't so I know how much to lift out of the freezer.

I hope you're all having a good Saturday.

    Morning all

Haven't read the thread properly yet. Hugs Mrs Mix glad the funeral went ok. Hugs Smokey, Candygirl and anyone else who wants one. I remember well teenage bedrooms with rotting food, rubbish, dirty clothes and general detritus when my DSS was at home. Guess I'll have to do it all again soon :D .

Welcome any new people, you'll like it here.

N9EAV how awful. I agree about the speed limit and no drinking and driving at all.
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE'S MUM

Had a very productive day in the library, with a very helpful librarian who showed me how to find all sorts of things. Hope to crack on with this and to get it handed in early, so I can at least have a week doing b****r all before the schools break up.

OH took us out to Chiquitos for dinner last night.

Off to work in a bit, then I'm off next week. Am glad, work is just a bit much at the mo. It's not my patients, it's some of the relatives, they are just so rude. I find a firm approach such as "I will talk to you when you have calmed down" works well but I also think I shouldn't have to do that. People just seem to think it's ok to get angry and scream at people.

Anyhow, thats enough of that. Must go and organise myself.

    Have a good day all.
