Good morning everyone,
Pam - so glad yesterday went ok, its perfectly normal to feel all those things (and continue to do so) i hope all goes well today, take care xxx
Catz - Have a lovely holiday!!!
PP - hope you are back home now, and all has gone ok xxx
Squiggly - we have a bad dad here too, my 2 know exactly what hes like now which makes it easier for me!!! I dont think i would want to poke him in the eye, more like a kick in the unmentionables!!!
stef - enjoy your 4 days off!!! I now have 3, so looking forward to the extra day!!
:grouphug: and :hello: to everyone who wants/needs one xxx
:hello: Taplady, Shez and twink xx
Well, its looking lovely outside at the moment, so the WM is on - ive also emptied the DW and put some bread rolls going in the BM, so a lot done for me already on a lazy Saturday!!! This afternoon i have a trailer verification to do at the cinema, so while i do that, the children are going to watch Indiana Jones, they are so looking forward to it!! They know its the fact i do this extra work means they can go, its so expensive just to go and see a film nowadays (£10.10 for 2 child tickets  ) and that doesnt include snacks (which we take our own  ) but the pay i get helps - the only thing is i dont get to see the film, but never mind!!!
Nothing else planned for this weekend at all, depends on the weather i suppose, if its nice maybe a trip to the moors, but im not holding out much hope for good weather, it never is when im not working! Will be popping to the supermarkets after the cinema, i know it means more petrol, but i like to get the cheapest prices, and will be on the hunt for anything yellowed stickered so hopefully it will be worth the trip.
OK, hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
MrsMix, I'm glad it went as well as it could - I know it sounds bizarre, but getting the funeral over with is a relief sometimes, as you come out of limbo, and can start to move forward, although still grieving.
Oh my god N9eav, sounds horrendousAre you on a sticky-out corner or bend on the road that means your house is in the firing line for crashes then, or just very unlucky?? I think we should have a zero limit - ie if you drink then you can't drive. Although there will always be those that ignore it. Very sad for the injured g/f too, but if she knowingly got in the car with the drunk driver, then I think they have to take the consequences of their actions. It's just a real shame you have to as well.
Have a little nap this afternoon if you get a chance then - and then your meal will prove a nice distraction.
Am taking kids out for a meal tonight to celebrate oldest DD's official leaving school - something their father had promised them for this weekend.... Pizza Hut or Harvester?? lol
Catowen, that sounds like interesting work - how did you come about that then??? Yes, kicking tender bits is very tempting. I did hang up on him yesterday - and I very rarely do as I've had a go at him in the past for doing that - so I think he realised I was very angry & hasn't rung back since...lol It's really hard though, because the kids don't like me being cross about being let down either, and then get all stroppy with me.... Am likely to [STRIKE]give him a boll**king later [/STRIKE]have a civilised conversation over the weekend. It feels like over 6 years later I am still trying to be supportive, and fit round him, and help out by being accommodating, and yet this pattern goes on and on and on and on and on. Oh, and on a bit more...
I really should learn.
Anyway, enough ranting (again). I do appreciate being able to get it off my chest on hereLive your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
N9eave what a terrible thing to happen are you on a bad corner for that to happen twice, hopefully the couple will do well thanks to your intervention0

Hope everyone has a good weekend xx0 -
Morning Everyone
Up early, even though late(ish) night. DS's GF's Mum & Maternal Grandparents were lovely, and it was a very pleasant evening. The Fashion show was really good, some outrageous outfits of course, but many very nice ones, and as on this course, the students have to design, make the pattern, and then create and sew the outfit themselves, the standard of needlework was excellent. Also one had included a very fancy crochet shrug, and another had quite a lot of knitware in her 6 outfits. The models (professionals:eek: ) on the other hand seemed to leave a lot to be designed, most to say the least were not attractive (& I'm no oil painting:rolleyes: ) and their figures didn't do it for me, some were almost flat chested (I may wish to lose some weight but not that far). The hair styles that had been done on them (not their choices) looked liked backcombed birds nests that had been pulled through a hedge backwards. Biggest problem was the seats, just not enough leg room, had to sit with legs akimbo IYKWIM, tried taking my shoes off so knees were not has high, but still very uncomfortable with knees sticking in the seat, so after 15 mins, moved and sat on a spare one with nothing in front.
Have a lovely holiday Catznine & Beemused.
SD - seems we have the same process for starting the thread. Good job I know how to edit my title though.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I was just about enough to say enough waffle and thought of Moiliere and how we keep being similar I was reminded of her mail yesterday about DS's how lovely it is to see them (now and again). One of the lovely things about DS(23) was getting hugs from him still, and in public, and even in front of his mates with no embarrassment, just it's my Mum. I also love Turkish Delight.
((((hugs)))) all round, feel free just take one.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
The end of the garden is on a corner. The road is 60mph, but should be 40mph. I have tried to get it lowered but without success. But I feel a big media campaign on the way and petition.
There is no excuse to crash there, but if you try and take that corner at 60mph while drunk, it's easy to miss. There have been 2 hits and and one car just stopping short (demolishing council hedge) all within 18 months. But nothing in the 8 years prior to that. There have been numerous overturned cars nearby and a double fatal about 6 years ago on this bit of road. The highways dept say it's not dangerous!
This is the only bit of 60mph road in the area and should be reduced in line with the rest..... Now what's the number of the local paper.....:mad:NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning all,
Sun is just about to shine here. WM is on full of OH's work clothes, bedding next when he gets out of the pit he should be off to work soon (should of gone at 8.00 but we went out last night). Think he may be hungover!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Catznine & Beemused hope you have lovely hols, I used to love Norfolk, used to stay in caravan right on the edge next to beach at Bacton.
squiggly think he needs more than a poke in the eye!
Not much to say.
Hugs to all in need.

Morning all
It's my birthday today, so DH has said we can do whatever I want, so we are doing a car boot (yes, I really want to), and then tonight I will have to decide whether I am cruel enough to make him watch EurovisionYes, I know it is rubbish, but I find it hilarious, especially when Sir Tel adds his comments.
A nice hot Indian later (hi Kyle), and a bottle of Turning Leaf (half price from Home Bargains)
Do you think we should send out a search party for Martyn, his Joolie was only supposed to be going down for a few days.
Have a good day everone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY charlies_mum x
a girl after my own heart, i love car boots
have a great holiday beemused0 -
Neav9 - what a night you've had! So sorry all your hard work in the garden's ruined too. Good luck with the publicity campaign - surely there's now enough evidence to bring that speed limit down? Mind, if a driver's drunk then he/she won't be heeding speed limit's either I guess.
Now people - fingers crossed pleased! Have just taken second set of curtains down (first matching ones already on line) and have spotted the care label...DRY CLEAN only!!!!! Too late, but hopefully cool short spin wash may not have caused too much damage. Will only know when I rehang later today. But how come I even bought them? I never do dry-clean only! Help!!!!Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0
