    bumped for nickynoo
  • I've tried the tuna, beans, crisps pasta and rice from asda savers. All good. Garlic bread is one of the best around.

Think I will try the fabric conditioner next time I need it. Have always been a comfort/lenor girl.

Have always bought Andrex or velvet toilet roll too, but have just got the asda own brand. (not prepared for smart price on my bot yet, got to do this in stages) Just as soft but sooo much cheaper

I haven't tried sp chocolate but did try asda own brand wholenut. 42p for a big bar compared to £1.20 cadbury's. I liked that a lot. really creamy, it didn't last very long though.

I'm worried about the mayo though, cos I tried co-op mayo and it was disgusting, so am sticking to helman's for the time being.

Any other no no's that are not worth buying?

  • We have been tring the Tesco Value range so far we have had

Crumpits - they are yum and no different
Crisps - Partners pack lunch, ha hasn't complained!
Chocolate digestive biscuits - again partners packed lunch, no complaints
Tooth paste - is fine not as minty but use mouthwash so can't tell
Custard creams - Can't tell any different

Some times we go to Asda and I picket up the washing powder (not SP but Asda own brand) and that's fine and we both have sesitive skin

Keep the post coming its intersting to find out what others have tried. I have to ssay I will stay away from the meats, we don't have it all that much so when we do I like nice stuff!!

value eggs - mentioned them before - they are fine
    VALUE MEAT
value sausages (frozen) great also for toad-in-the-hole, sausage casserole, bangers and mash...
I dont buy the value ham or sliced 'chicken' anymore bcos my daughter has school meals (free) and she used to have that in sarnies.
I get chickens that are 2 for £5 and they are fine
value pork chops are ok for me, and anyhow i dont often have pork chops.
value streaky bacon is ok as long as you cook it til its crispy all over, lovely sarnie in between a couple of slices of value bread!

  • Tesco's value ham/gammon at £3.60 odd is lovely. I use the value eggs for cooking/baking and the orange juice is positively the best with no "bits" in it :D

I like a lot of the value range in kitchen utensils, sheets etc, stationery, wrapping paper. In fact if I am looking for something I check out the value products first.
  • :oYuk yuk yuk made our sandwiches this morning with Asda SP tuna, more water than tuna, it was a funny colour, tastes of nothing and made the bread go all soggy! Will spend the extra next time and get the nice stuff! :P

I like the smartprice tuna more than the expensive stuff! As long as you drain the brine off it's fine, but I do that with any tuna anyway.
