morning all. i have been reading for a few weeks now after first posting on here and getting an amazing amount of support, but no time to post. thank you all, you are a fab bunch of people.
today is my eldest's 6th birthday so as i type i am surrounded by wrapping paper and Bratz and High School Musical stuff. i can believe i have been a mum for that long, and now i have 3 lovely (mostly) girls and many many grey hairs.
we did a soft play party on sunday so this afternoon it's just a birthday tea with us and her best friend. will be baking the cake as soon as the school run is done, and general tidying up (if i can hoover round the toys).
looks like it's going to be a lovely day here in cardiff. i have nappies drying on the line already.
hugs to those who need or want them. have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all, have read through Tues thread and would like to send Love and hugs to Jayward, Arkonite, Ausie, PenPin, tattycath, Donnygal, JackieO, meanmarie, and special ones to Smokie and Smokelets. Sorry if I have missed anyone.
Managed to level the 2 tons of soil in DD's garden, the clumps of soil were so hard I had to break them up with a hammer, couldn't get a folk into it. DH did half of the fence and hopes to finish today. Had terrible pain in my arms last night proberbly because of the hammering and raking I had the worst nights sleep, didn't have any pain when gardening though, I was up most of the night. DH has banned me from doing anymore work on the garden. I'm going to phone Dr's to see him and nag for a priority in the op list. Am taking onboard what those of you advised, to keep phoning, I really can't take anymore.
This post has taken 20mns to type as my hands are numb.
Will take things easy today.
Love to all. Beth x0 -
Morning all,
Looks like it may be a nice day, still a little cloudy but there are some patches of blue sky. Good job as i still have a load of DD's washing to dry, i think i may have got the b8m end of the deal yesterday, Quote *can you make us a loaf of bread and in exchange i'll bring you some washing*Cheeky Mare
Anyway thought my back was easing off a bit over the last couple of days but no such look the pain is back again.
OH has been called up for Jury Service next week and as we have no car or motorbike on the road yet he's not looking forward to getting the earlier bus into the courts 50 mile round trip and 2 hours away. I know he wanted some time off but thats just silly...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Mioliere - What do you put in the impossible pie for a dessert please?

Morning :hello:
You'll have to forgive typos this morning as I am still chez Nelski and she's got one of those ergonomic keyboards where the keys are in a wave shape - i'm not used to it!
twink - great to hear you've heard from PP.
Am up early this morning (well, not it if was a work day, but I'm on holiday!) cos I had to get into the online booking system at the crack of dawn to bag myself some affordable tickets for autumn season at the Royal Opera House. There aren't many cheap ones, and they really do sell out in a flash. I ended up on the phone to my best friend and we made a joint effort so he found tickets for some shows and I found others. Booked 5 shows and spent £70.50 each altogether, which I think is pretty good for 5 evenings of world class entertainment.
I've been having a brilliant time with Nelski - we hooked up with pandas66 as well, though she's working today so was up early this morning to drive home. We spent yesterday at Cheshire Oaks and my credit card has taken a bashing - though all on stuff I needed, and I couldn't believe how much stuff I got for my money. It's payday today anyway, and it includes a modest bonus, so all paid for, and I basically will not now need any more clothes this summer (except possibly a couple of T-shirts). Sorted.
Am slightly hung over this morning (:o) and it's very bright here in Nels's study, so will sign off now... am home last thing tonight.

Morning everyone :hello:
Happy Birthday Little Miss Gin :bdaycake:
Aussie,I'm so pleased about your sister. :T
Kyle...Good luck as the clinic.
Mrs Mix and Smoky... Big Hugs to you.xxx
Celyn..Good luck at your review and sorry things went badly at OH's mediation.
MeanMarie, I'm so pleased your trip is still on. [STRIKE]God help you if Aussie tracks you down. She will force feed you with lettuce and passionfruit and make you watch Lazytown on a loop.[/STRIKE] It would be lovely if you could meet up with Aussie.
It's good to hear PenPin is through her op. Didn't she say she was having something done on her mouth as well as the ovarian biopsy? I'm sure she is in pain when they've done 2 ops for the price of one. Mind you, I wish my consultants were so efficient.
I had a dreadful night's sleep with OH away. First off, I couldn't get the door to the garden locked so was a bit twitchy about that. Then Dtwin2 couldn't sleep, then when she did finally get over the cat woke her so I woke up to find her dumping the cat on my bed and slamming the door. Then at 5am I was woken by a banging on the roof above my bed. It's a flat roof above the bay so it was very noisy.I went out onto the road only to see some blasted bird had killed something and was mauling it and pecking it above my room. So I've been awake since then.
DW, WM and BM on. I want to clear a couple of cupboards today, finish the ironing and finish off the accounts. Girls are at Art Club after school so I have a long day to myself. Pizza and Popcorn tonight as we always have that when OH goes away (which is rare)
Have a good day everyone.

Hello to gin :hello: and Happy Birthday to DD :bdaycake:
Twink
glad that operation is over for Pennyp but sorry she is still in pain and hope they can sort it out for her.
Martins had a threadin his e mail about what to say to people if you needed to cut back but did not want to say so - I replied and mentioned Old Style.
DD loved theapple and ginger cakes so much yesterday I might make sweet apple muffins later if I can find my recipe.
Have soaked split yellow peas last night so will make a curry tonight (the one that won Martins meal for six for a fiver challenge).
Started sneezing and coughing so drinking a hot lemon and might crawl back to bed for an hour later. Why is it that you don't feel too bad tucked up in bed but dreadful once you try and do anything?
Going to have some home made elderberry syrup and see if that confuses the virus!
Hugs to everybody and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Morning everybody :hello:
It's colder here today, just hope it doesn't rain later as it's DD2's sports day. She's gone to school in her footie kit today *brrrrr*
Speaking of DD2, does anyone want to do a swop??
We discovered last night after all the hassle we've had of late that's she has been hiding more stuff.(Full story here.)
I asked on the family board for more advice when we discovered the problem and I looked in here for inspiration, now it appears we are back to square one. The biggest concern though is that she has been sneaky again and has started to hide school work too. I'm at my wit's end with her and if you ask what's going on or why she's done it, she just stares blankly at you, and shrugs.:mad:
I'll have to speak to her class teacher today after sports day is over, but last time we had this problem, her teacher says she works well in class and doesn't show any of the problems we see at home. I'm tempted to take a video of the behaviour we have at times and sent it in so her teacher can see what she's like. Yesterday we had one worksheet to do, it was an A4 page and it took 3 hours!!! This was inter spaced mind with a tantrum in the middle where she went off and howled very loudly with kicking as well for about 30 minutes. All her Dad and I did was ask her to read one of her sentences out
I'm not so concerned with hiding food or the mess she makes in her room when she hides dirty clothes, it's the schoolwork which is a real issue for me, she's already having to go out for extra help and has done so for the last 2 years. It now looks like when we get the SENCO report next month she will be facing another year out of class for help. She hates the teacher too and no matter what you say to her you can't get her to understand that if she puts the effort in she won't have to go out to this teacher. DD2 is capable of doing the work and has proven to us countless time in the past that when she settles and concentrates she can fly through the stuff no problem, so it's not that she can't understand what she has to do. She'd rather be outside running round and sees homework or any other schoolwork as boring and a real chore.
Sorry everyone, rant over, I needed to get that off my chest, I'm stressed and me being off work doesn't help.
Twink - I'm so glad we've heard from penny pincher. Send (((hugs))) if you can
Aussie - Where can I find your impossible pie recipe, I think it sounds interesting and I'd like to try it. I get the feeling there will be a smart comment come back about my cooking skills next. Good news about your sister, you must be glad.
Has anyone seen Martyn over the last few days since "His Julie" arrived? Hope everything went well, I'm dying to hear how he got on
((((((hugs)))))) to everyone who is in need or poorly at the moment
Blinkin eck, this has to be the longest I've posted on here, if not the longest post ever from me
I'll go now for a :coffee: before I get accused of rambling
See you all later
