Ohhh... managed to avoid my boss all morning by hiding in the library with my laptop and doing my data processing there. I'm hoping he's on the river this afternoon. Only got to hide from him for another 3 hrs :D (I'm off at 5.30pm today)

Sorry about your DD arkonite - my little brother was the same. I remember my mum filling sweets with cod liver oil and soap and leaving them about to teach him not to eat rubbish (opal fruits are still known as soapy fruits at home).

I've just ben into sainsburys in my lunch hour and they had limes.... many many limes all for a penny each (they had crates and crates of them) so I bought a carrier bag full for the princely sum of 85p and will make some lime marmalade and maybe preserve some in salt - I have loads of jam jars at home at the moment because they have decided they aren't going to collect our glass waste for recycling. I didn't get round to going to the market this afternoon, but such is life. We have a lot of food in because I haven't been cooking that much. Must do something with that aubergine for tea though before it starts looking like one of my petri dishes :D cel x

    Afternoon All

Good News on the extra work Catowen :j

(((Hugs))) for Aussie's sis & Hesters BIL and anyone else who needs one.

Kazwookie - our cucumber plants arent doing well either, and the spring onions havnt done anything, everything else is looking ok though.

Arkonite - my DD is 12 nearly 13 and she has been hard work since 2, however at school she is an angel, she is starting to get better now just as some of her friends are just starting to give their parens grief. Good Luck

Have had a lovely relaxing day, Tai Chi was good and the hopi ear candle was lovely, have booked again for 2 weeks as the candles arent burning completely - that is my aim. Had an unexpected visitor so got nothing done. Just having a sit down and a chill on here then will start dinner then get the ironing done so can watch the football. Needless to say - Come on Chelsea

Kids have got chiken nuggets and chips tonight, oh forgot to get lamb chops out of the freezer so I will be having some toast or a sandwich.

    Afternoon all,

Just had a lovely lunch out with DD4 and DGS2...their treat...probably be a bit lonely here while we are gone, but will be good for her to cope on her own, she wants to buy a house next year so she will have to move then....not thinking about what that will be like for us.

AB...no advice to offer on your DD I'm afraid, they can be such a worry...do remember that playing was always more important than lunch, they would then come home and empty the fridge!

Aussie...sorry to hear that your sister has to have a by pass...bigger undertaking than the stents, but a very successful operation so the sooner it is over the better for her...pity they were so cack handed about telling her though!

Hugs to all in need or want , not sure when I will get on now, so thoughts will be will those of you suffering mentally or physically.

Have just been looking on the recipes and found one for banana cake and banana muffins.

12 banana muffins have just come out of the oven and a banana cake in a loaf tin has just gone in.

Fingers crossed DDs like them as it is a much better way of using up fruit than me eating it.

Making yellow split pea curry later and taking DD to dentist.

i make banana cake for my neighbours mum as she loves it:D sorry to ask but wheres the muffin recipe?? i could make them too lol:D x

It is page 3 on the recipe sticky thread.

It is for banana bread but says it also makes muffins.

no luck with links so this is the best I can do.

    Evening all

well work sucks big time!!!! The temp job is hideous and a hedgehog would be able to do it with it's eyes shut, so you can imagine how I'm feeling!!! At least the cash will be handy. It's going into a rainy day day fund once the cc is paid off (not too much left to go now).

saying that though, I am tired enough getting up at 6.30am and not getting home till 6pm. Oh well - won't be for too long. :D

OH has been terribly sweet since the weekend. We had some fabulous news and ever since then he's been very thoughtful, but he has staked his claim to the tv tonight for some football match - he doesn't support either team, but apparently that doesn't matter!!!!!! I'm afriad football's not a game i'm veyr interested in - so think I will pick up my knitting.

thanks Mioliere for posting Aussie's recipe.

Elona - everytime I read your posts you make me salivate over your menu's. Your pea and ham soup was a hit in our house and I've been requested to make more at the weekend :D

need to do a shop - think I'll be lazy and do it online and see if I can find any money-off vouchers :D

    bye for now x
