Aussie - sorry to hear that your Sister's op isn't going as planned. (((hugs)))

    But you're a cheeky madam otherwise :p:p:p:p
and thanks, you know what for ;)
  • Afternoon all :)

(((hugs))) to anyone who needs them today.

OH has gone away again so i'm continuing with my big clear-out/clean up ready for jellybean coming - less than 6 weeks now - eek!! The new house is coming along nicely and we're looking to move in when jellybean is a few weeks old. We've booked our wedding for next May too :D So lots going on here and despite everyone telling me to rest i'm full of beans and can't sit still for long, my SPD doesn't seem to have worsened from when it started, by this time with DD i couldn't walk without crutches so i'm doing well :)

With having no laptop for a couple of weeks my grocery challenge got completely messed up so i'll leave it for now and start next month afresh as i have NO idea what i've spent or on what :o

Oooh and jellybean's pram came last night. Its an M&P Pramette in polka dot, excellent condition, £180 on ebay and the lovely lady delivered it for me :) I'm so chuffed with it, i keep going into the kitchen to play with it lol

Right, off to tackle DD's toybox now, wish me luck!!!

    Have a good day all

AB, re your DD and the sweets, my DD went through a stage years ago, when she would steal sweets, chocolate bars etc, and hide the wrappers all over the place, mainly down the sofa cushions  , any way my sister came up with an idea, which was to give my DD 5 small sweets in a dish each day, and tell her that it was up to her when she ate them, but that there would be no more that day. For the first two days she ate them all before breakfast she thought it was great, untill the evening came, and I would sit in front of her with my own sweet and eat it with great relish, the third day dawned, and she did not touch the sweets untill she came home from school and had had her dinner then we ate our sweets at the same time, it really did not take her too long to learn that lesson ;) , its a control thing again, good luck xx

Garage have just phoned car has failed on welding  going to be about £150  , the car is only four years old

Is there a football match later then ?

Sorry Churchy, but as I live in the North, I have to say

    Come On You Reds !!

AS a Manchester City fan I am legally obliged to say "Come on CHELSEA". I think you'll find it's the law :rotfl:

Hello to everyone and hugs to everyone who needs them. Well today has been quite quiet at work for a clinic day - which immediately makes me suspicious..... That said, I gave out my avon books at work today and have already got £50 in orders - strewth (it's pay day looming, people get spend happy in here as it's the only thing we look forward to!) DH went for his bloods today. I still don't think he should be in work but there you go  Looking forward to Martin tonight so I can get loads of money without doing anything. That said I don't think I can cut anything else back - well, maybe the 'phone.... Tonight I will be doing my pasta bake which is essentially a home made cannelonni-type creation but feeds us for two days so that's good. I see Radio Times has gone up 5p as well - being a radio 4 addict it's the only listing mag I buy but I think it's a bloomin' cheek.... nothing much else to report really apart from the dentist yesterday cost me £45 for a filing - thank heavens I pay into their dental plan. Otherwise I'd be setting up shop myself..... Right Ta Ta!!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Hi all - just back from the gym and feeling hungry and cream-crackered!

For those who want Aussie's Impossible Pie (Savoury version):

1 and a half cups milk
    Half cup S R flour
    3 eggs
    Salt and pepper
    1 diced onion
    1 cup grated cheese
Any grated veg (in my last one I used courgette, carrot, some already-cooked cabbage and already-cooked new potatoes and leeks.

Mix together and bake in a mod oven (Gas 4/5) for one hour - (my oven took one and a half) For non-veggies you can add ham, tuna or whatever takes your fancy. I just added pieces of ham-on-the-bone to the last one and it was delicious. I prepare it first thing in the morning, keep it in the fridge and bung it in the oven in time for dinner. It's very filling and very cheap and ideal if you want to use up those manky veggies that wouldn't look too pretty on the plate!

PINK - as for what to use instead of coconut, how about semolina, ground rice, oats? I can't think of anything else. It would work without the coconut I think and perhaps just add a spoonful of jam to it once it's been served? I'm only guessing here - perhaps Aussie has made it with different things? (that's a cue for one of her wicked photos, methinks!)

Anyway, off to have some lunch - going to the gym has given me a ravenous appetite!

    See you all later.

Have just been looking on the recipes and found one for banana cake and banana muffins.

12 banana muffins have just come out of the oven and a banana cake in a loaf tin has just gone in.

Fingers crossed DDs like them as it is a much better way of using up fruit than me eating it.

Making yellow split pea curry later and taking DD to dentist.
