OS Daily Monday 19th May 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before y ou go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning. It's getting to be summer time. I can tell because I don't sleep so well. Went to bed at 1 after a late night at work and was up at 5. I feel fine. It's just time of year.

Work again this morning. Had a very busy weekend and so it's time to play catch-up this morning. I have just seen that there is no bread in the house for P lunches, so I may have to visit the corner shop and pay an astronomical price for a loaf.

The grass needs cutting again after all that rain.... job for tonight when I get home.

Anyway... have a nice day everyone

Neav9 - Good luck with the remaining 13 rggs - how much longer until they hatch? I was looking at eglos yesterday (would love one) but at £359.99 its a bit beyond our price range at the moment.

Catowen. Look out for wooden arks, they are far cheaper and have been used for centuries.

Morning N9eve, Dogrose and all who follow.
Am up early (for once). Have decided to enjoy the weather at the START of the day instead of just at the end of the day.
Am at work today all day - have rquested shorter shifts as these long days are really getting me tired! Hopefully that will come through soon.
Not sure what to have for tea tonight, will raid the freezer as have to start emptying it ready for a really good clean out.
    Hugs to all in need

Morning N9eav, Dogrose and all who cross and follow,

Off to work in a minute. Good luck to all with relatives sitting their exams. Bethhebee hugs to you, hope you are feeling better today. PENPEN sounds like a good course. Hugs to Smokey, Mrs Mix and anyone else who needs one.

DONNYGAL I can't believe they sent your Dad to hospital without an escort, he must have found it really bewildering and it's something I would never ever do. Hugs to you.

Not much planned when I get home. Shall take DS to the park after school, karate tonight (him not me) so tea will be something simple. Also need to go to Asda.

    Have a good day all.

Do the washing and put it out to dry - then go to the beach. The rest will wait for the rainy days to come. ;) (Bank holiday coming up)

    Morning possums,

It turned out to be quite warm here today after all. DGS & XDIL are coming around shortly after his hair cut. I've cleaned the house, caught up with laundry and done some baking. Made an impossible pie for dessert & a batch of biscuits which I didn't cook enough. Oh well, they taste nice. Domestic goddesses do make mistakes sometimes. :D

Cooked all the beetroot on Saturday. One batch of relish & the other similiar to the canned stuff. DH says they are nice. He harvested the Yacon's on Saturday as well. I have no idea what to do with them yet. Bit weary today. I went to bed super early last night but woke up at midnight as bright as a button. Don't you just hate that. Think I drifted off again in the early hours.

<hugs> to those poorly. Will pop back later. Byeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all

Another gorgeous day here, but I am at work, so won't see much of it. Spent 7 hours at the allotment yesterday  but I now have my onions, lettuce and beetroot planted. I have my peas and beans in the greenhouse ready, so am finally catching up.

Got some smoked cod out of the freezer for later, and will put in the steamer with some veg, so that's dinner sorted.

Lots of hugs to Pen Pin, and anyone else who wants one x

:D Aussie, I'm not surprised you are tired, you are far too old for this sort of behaviour :rotfl:

Forgot to say, Martyn, if you are on here later, hope you have a great time with 'your Julie', I hope it all goes well.

Bright & sunny here & I don't just mean the weather, I am also feeling the same knowing this is the last week I will get to work late, lol.
Martyn, when you present Julie with the wooly hat I'm sure you've knitted her, don't forget to tell her who started you on the slippery slope.
Whatatwit, I'm more concerned about what Katy will leave behind, hubby has been telling me all week not to exaggerate about the amount of suitcases she's buying & then Saturday while I was out babysitting she came home with 4 more!
Hugs to Smokey, PP, Mrs Mix, Jayward & DG's Dad.

    Morning all.

I have to pick up the 'long version' of miss tru's birth certificate, her boss has asked everyone for ID  She took the normal sized one in when she started working there, but now apparantly it's not good enough. So I had to pay £7 for that.

So my day looks like this -

    Get bike out of shed
    Go to register office
    Pick up keys from friend
Go to office to pick up post
    Nip into the Co-op
    Go home and sort post
    Clean out the animals

Sit and eat the chocolate that I'm going to buy from the Co-op, undoing all the good work that the bike ride did :D
