Well I've had my exercise today :D Been to Matalan TWICE :rotfl::rotfl:

Firstly I went the long way around and called in at a hairdressers to ask whether they can lighten my hair for me - they said they'd have to bleach it and I'm looking at about £85-90 and a couple of hours :eek: I'll see what the result of the strand test is then decide whether to go ahead with the bleaching or go for a chop instead again as its about 6" of dark hair at the most to be bleached

Then I spent 2 hours in Matalan and spent £94 AFTER discounts :eek: Brought them home, tried stuff on properly (I hate trying stuff on in changing rooms) and returned £64 worth of clothing for a refund rather than exchange :rotfl::rotfl: I'll go back towards the end of August or the beginning of September and get a suit and a couple of blouses in whatever size I am then. ;)

Then I walked home the long way via the duck pond again.

As for flying - I've done one wash load this morning, another is in now and thats it :o Going to have my tea now (Chicken Tikka Masala a-la-ding aka readymeal from Asda) and some larger

    Laters

    *!*!*! BOO !*!*!*

    Did you miss me?

How curious - I've just looked at the time it said I last visited at the top of this page and it says 20-05-2008 at 4:07pm. Now, that was last Tuesday. About that time last Tuesday, I was driving along some tiny Worcestershire lanes and nowhere near a computer. I haven't logged on to this forum since last Saturday. I shall have to beat the kids about the head until one of them 'fesses up. I also need to change my password and get it off the 'remember it' thing so they can't do it again!!!!

I'm not going to have time to read through all this week's thread so hugs to those who need/needed them, hurrah's to those who deserve them and happy birthday's to those who have had them.

Had a lovely week away. Lots of tramping round old graveyards and things. Visited a stately home where my Great Grandfather had been a butler at one time. Asked where the butler's pantry would have been and was told it was now the staff room, but they let me have a quick look in it anyway which was really sweet of them! So, I stood where my Great Grandfather stood about 114 years ago!

The cottage was really cosy and old and had a wonderful woodburner. I've decided I want one. And I want one soon. The old chimney stack is still there (although capped) and the old fire place is bricked up under plaster somewhere so it shouldn't be too difficult to open up a hole at the right point to insert a flue. I shall make enquiries! I'm sure I'll soon recoup the cost of the fire and installation by reduced gas central heating bills!

And, in true MSE style, I've resisted popping onto here until AFTER I'd unpacked and done some washing. It's such a good drying day here today - two of the three loads I've done have already come back in off the line.

Welcome home soappie, sounds like you've had a nice break, must have been a very strange feeling standing where your Great Grandfather once did.

boddy to be honest, every bank holiday it seems to rain, so maybe worth working those and being off work when it's nice.

nicki definately shop around for the harido, my hairdresser can do my highlights for £22 and that would include a cut, so sure you can find somewhere cheaper, that is higher than even T&G salons here charge I think.

witchypoo, good luck with the arguement, if she gets really annoying say you'll send her to get a disposable razor if it gets bad enough to worry about.

Dusty, lucky you, my bum looks big in everything. Actually due to being very aware of my size I always wear shorts (they're lycra type ones) under my swimsuit which makes me feel a little better. I got mine in that Sports Soccer place.

Well been out all day, ended up having to come to the rescue (again) for the event DP was at, which mean't I left without a coat (brrrr bit chilly on the sea front but was sunny) but wasn't a bad day. Unfortunately as I had to dash out I didnt have time to get packed lunches made, just threw some stuff in a bag, so did cost me a little more than I'd hoped, but nevermind. For some reason the laundry I put out at 9am is still wet, ok it was towels and bath mats but still, mustn't have been as nice here or something?

After the day out I have been seriously considering getting a caravan, OK I wouldn't be able to afford a big flashy one like some which were there but I think the boys would love having one. As DP now only works part time on a weekend through the week in the school hols we'd be able to go away whenever we like Sunday-Thursday day time (as long as he can get someone else to look after the club) which is very appealing for the 'wanderer' in me. We could take the dogs saving the worry/being tied/kennel fees. Seriously tempted but would need to look into what I need to look for and what we can afford. I was put off thinking storage was expensive, but talking to a friend he only pays £210 a year! I thought it'd be over £1000 for some reason.

The plan of cutting the grass this morning of course went out the window, so did doing it tonight (was thinking could finish it then) as DPs now gone to bed until 9pm so he can goto work (he's had about 3 hours and will be in until late then up early for the day out tomorrow) I need to do a list for everything I need to do this evening, unfortunately a lot but needs doing or tomorrow will go all to pot, I need to have everything ready to go so I can take the dogs out at 8am instead of doing the usual headless chicken routine before we leave.

Right off to do a list and referee dog/child fights, DS2 currently climbing all over DS1 and Megan is chewing on Luke's ears....she's a meanie!
One day I might be more organised...........

I am popping outside and checking the weather every five minutes. There's still one load left on the line which is *almost* dry and the wind is still strong and warm. But, the clouds are gathering and there's a weather warning out by the met office from 22:00 tonight for heavy rain in these 'ere parts. Let's hope it stays off until the last little bit is dry..... it can rain all it likes then!

I'm hoping she meant that it would cost £90 for 4 or 5 sessions if not I'm definitely going for the chop :rotfl::rotfl:I've decided not to go for the cheap hairdressers by me again - they're too busy doing their own hair and discussing their next night out

Welcome home Soappie and :hello: to any newbies.

Can anyone tell me how I missed the fact that there was a rugby match on in Cardiff today???:o:rotfl::rolleyes: I've definitely done my HHE today, pushing wheelchairs around Cardiff town centre, weaving around "millions" of rugby fans. We've had a good day though, lunch and a nice wander, plus seeing my hairdresser. Only 2 of the 5 finalists turned up though. :confused:Thanks to anyone who voted. Now we just have to wait and see who goes through to the finals.

Now it's just DD and me eating pizza and going to watch Eurovision. DS is at GF's house, but I'll be collecting him later.

I'm going to put my feet up now. Hope you all have a good evening. x
