    Happy Birthday Davgirl1

Morning all. Woke up this morning and thought "I know I'll get up and go to Matalan first thing" so I jumped out of bed pulled open my drawer and found an empty space where my knickers should be :o I forgot to put a dark wash on last night so I've run out :rotfl::rotfl: So sitting here in my PJs with the washing on, will sling it in the TD as I NEED the underwear and a pair of clean jeans :o:o I think I might need to start doing a fast wash mid week or pick up another packet of knickers

Plan for today is to get this load of washing dry, nip to Matalan then I'll get on with the final part of my TMA..or at least thats the plan ATM :rotfl::rotfl:

Back from the inlaws ok now in all honesty I was a little bit nervous - I always worry that MIL will turn back into her previous incarnation... However we all had a lovely few hours (I needed to sit down to type that!) She was really surprised by her cake too :D

SSL - I know what you mean - I decluttered our last place (before putting it on the market Nov/Dec 2005) I stored 30 boxes plus some furniture at the inlaws :o We always do the house buying thing the "wrong way round" i.e. buy before we sell  1st time we did it with no problems - the last time things got a bit concerning  We just didn't seem to be getting very many viewings with an o/o price so we went to a fp (without reducing price - just stating what we wanted/needed) Then we had a few more viewings and a buyer *phew* I know on the buying side of things looking at an o/o place feels like a minefield but a fp *seems* more straightforward...

I know someone that has just sold and they found things really slow it took them 8 weeks I think... they were thinking the same thing about the market although I saw something recently that said things weren't that bad up here - as in still rising in most areas  (espcially over on your side of the country)

CB - change of plan! I've gone to a FP and also I'm paying the stamp duty for the buyers  I'm hoping that will make a difference, especially for the first time buyers who came to see the house. I know going to a FP isnt a guarentee, but at least people know what you want and in this area, the amount you pay over the OO price can be absolutely ridiculous (esp in Edinburgh) I will never ever buy before I sell again! But then the plan is this is my last move anyway. I think I've said that before ;) Also, I think me paying the stamp duty will make a difference. Fingers crossed.

I'm glad MIL liked her cake and you had a good visit. Long may it continue :D

The OO price used to be more or less the value of the property. Not sure when it started getting stupid. House behind me went on the market OO £165 - just heard it went for £251 :eek::eek:

    Morning all

Lovely drying day here, sunny and breezy. Two loads already dried and put away including DD's bedding that should have been done Thursday but I was away. Got the throws out on the line now.

Dusted bedrooms and living room and vacuumed through downstairs.

Going to make a sponge later to try out my new oven. I only got it a few days before I went away so I haven't tried cake making in it yet. It's a fan oven - is it better to have a lower temperature or just to check it earlier than usual?
  • Afternoon everyone,

Managed to get everyone to and from swimming lessons - I even remembered to stop at the garden centre on the way back and get some garden gloves (DH forgot to bring home some yard gloves before he went away  )

    Plan of action is:

lunch, then kick everyone outside to play while I go and hunt down all the "jaggy" weeds - hopefully doing it now will catch them before they seed. I am in 2 minds about a sleep over tonight might watch a DVD in the lounge and then all back to their own rooms

Then tonight is ironing and sorting out that silver basket with odds and ends in it - I am sick of tripping over it!

Better go load the WM too... oh and a meal plan... need to stop thinking!

AnW'sMum - I hope you all have a great break away.

SSL - Lots of sell, sell, sell vibes going your way - For 1st time buyers you are making things as simple as you possibly can for them.

    Thanks for the tip lil_me!

    Catch you all later on.

    Afternoon all

Happy holidays to everybody going away.
    Happy Birthday Davesgirl

Been to town and think I now have got/done everything I need to.

Quick list update then a cuppa before going to redo the plant survey. Taking DS3 and his friend to soft play later as DS1 and 2 off to the cinema with OH.

Have delegated the fiddly bits of my list to OH to do an hope to get some of the packing done this evening.

Tried some swimsuits on in town but it really was a case of my bum looks big in this - has made me think once we are back I really must get back to pilates and walking as I am defo suffering from the effects of gravity and spread!
