Soappie-I don't get on with my neighbours much anyway but I would have gone and knocked on the door but they don't use their front door they use the back door through their yard and I wasn't going to do that. I don't actually think it's our neighbours because I haven't seen them I have a feeling they are on holiday, I did just ask over the yard wall if they could turn it down and they have a bit. Spoke too soon they truned it back up!
Then I would take Pigpen up on her offer and borrow her Metallica CD!
I'm JUST about coping with the continual low THUMP THUMP THUMP of the music from the fair nearby - a sound which is marginally preferable (because it's constant and you can gradually learn to block it out) to the occasional outburst of screams from young ladies as they go are thrown about on some ride or another. WHY do they go on it if it's going to make them scream?I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

cha97michelle wrote: »I have also developed mastitis, and have the most painful cracked nipple from feeding. It brings me to tears every time he feeds on that side. I felt fluey on tuesday, but luckily that went before i had to face the day alone with both boys. (any tips? i have lasinoh - i keep exposing myself to air - next i think i am going to have to express off that side as it needs time to heal and isn't getting it.)
I've had it, basically the only way through it is to get antibiotics ASAP and keep feeding however much it hurts (find something to bite on!) if you want to carry on with breast feeding.
I got conflicting advice from midwife and doctor. The midwife said that it would get better by itself, the doctors said that as there was a livid red patch and I had a temperature I needed antibiotics.
Lansinoh is good, I've also used Camillosan. Use loads. Get lots of help from partner and anyone else who is about, it will be a week or so before you feel like doing much. I found that feeding number 2 (19 months younger than number 1) still caused a mild feeding of discomfort in the area where the red patch had been, so there was obviously long term damage.
I found a good way to get DD feeding when there was a lot of milk in was to press VERY lightly with the tip of my little finger just next to her nose to make a small air space for her to breath through otherwise she found latching on difficult. Don't keep pressing once things have 'softened off' (IYKWIM!), as you mustn't block the milk duct. This is also a good tip if the baby has a cold.
Try expressing - if it is less painful than feeding it might help, but you'll have to experiment.
I spoke to a breast feeding counsellor. She didn't really come up with any practical advice, but it was nice to have some extra sympathy! You might be able to find one in your area.
I'm expecting number 3 in two or three weeks, and intend to feed this one too. DD1 fed for 14 months, DS1 fed for 19 months, no idea how long this one will want to go on for! I'm looking forward to doing it again, fantastic excuse to sit around cuddling baby (as if I needed an excuse!), and it certainly helps with getting rid of the baby fat:T

MermaidYou only get one go at life, so grab it where it hurts, shake it hard and get everything out of it you can!0 -
g&b very large hugs for you and the young fella's family.
earplugs for Daisydoll and a loan of my CD collection if required, A-Z from Abam to ZZtop! I find a quick round of Pavarotti shuts most up.
Natty £85, I think the most I have ever paid was £60, looking forward to getting mine done the next time I go with it being just £22I think she said. Hugs for the sunburn, me too
Michelle you've had some fab advice so far, unfortunately a bad case of it stopped me BF both times and I was really upset about it, fingers crossed it improves soon. I was advised to express by one GP then the other said that had made it worse, because I was teaching my body to provide more than needed. Maybe as recommended see if your health visitor knows of any breastfeeding support in your area?
AnW'sMum thanks for the caravan info, we're going to discuss it more tomorrow when DP has caught up on his sleep. £200 doesn't sound too bad for insurance. I am thinking just get a cheap one for now, partly because I can't afford to spend a lot, see how having one suits us a family (I definately do not think I am brave enough to drive with a one on the car!). Hope you have a lovely week away.
GingerGirl when I do something like that I use them as a base for a pud with custard, do them as part of a trifle or something
We're back we had a lovely time(thanks Hippy for asking) bit of a long journey when you're going by coach (it'd only take an hour or so by car but was almost 3 hours instead inc pee stops etc) but saved one of us driving and much cheaper. Absolutely shattered now, was woken by DS1 at 4.15am, then DS2 wet the bed by 5am so he ended up in with me, DS1 sent back to his room but too excited to settle, shouting 'we'll be late' at 5am is just no fun at all, then of course was DS2s bed to strip before we go, get some of the sheets in the wash, walk the dogs etc.......now I know why I look and feel like a zombie!
Right, see you all on the next threadOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200

Poor Michelle, the only advice I have is hot baths. With DS2 a very large nurse had me in tears when she decided that DS2 needed to be shoved onto me while she grabbed my left breast as he was, in her words 'messing about' while in my words he was 'nuzzling'. Don't know what happened but that side was swollen, sore and not letting any milk out. This was he was in SCUBU. I gave up breast feeding as I just could not face it at all, couldn'd even go near him for another few days, horrible horrible woman! Try not to give up if you will regret it later on. Express from that side in the bath to keep production going and give it a chance to heal up. Hope it gets better soon, your doing a great job!0
