Hi all
Been a busy weekend. DD1 was in an am-dram production this week and it was the last night yesterday. I now have 1 incredibly tired and grumpy daughter!! Still - she had fun doing it!
DS and DD2 were at a party so DH acted as chauffeur (party was 30 miles away). Day ended with DS at one sleepover and DD2 at grandmas.
Today have all been very lazy and watched the grand prix - top result. Am planning a blitz tomorrow to get ready for having the gingerkids off for half term.
Also planning to make some raspberry and choccie muffins as I forgot to put sugar in the last lot and they tasted yeuchy. Even DS refused to eat them.
Hugs to everyone especially guns n banjos.0 -
Evening all. Well, I've had a nice day pottering. The sun finally came out about lunchtime so I was able to put the washing on the line and it's almost dry (though it's not as good a drying day as yesterday was!)
So what have I done? Updated list below. I've also pottered about in the garden and planted up some cut and cut again lettuce seeds. I've also sorted out the aero garden in the kitchen. Three lots of 'erbs were finished so I've improvised with foam etc. and put some tomato and strawberry seeds in their place. It's a pure experiment to see'f I can buck the system!
Am just about to update my sig. with savings from Tesco (including the clubcard vouchers) and some more money I've drawn down from Paypal- [STRIKE]Stick some stuff up on ebay[/STRIKE] Have 24 things listed

Michelle.. expressing will hurt more! Keep lathering the lansinoh on after every feed try feeding him in a different position so the pressure is on a different part and try shoving more of the areola in his mouth, there should be none showing above or below his lips.. lol.. make sure he gets a really good mouth full. It sometimes helps to express a little to take the pressure off before each feed.. wait until the letdown has occured before latching him on (I was a breastfeeding counsellor in a former life!.. I have the certificates to prove it)
I have 45 things on ebay now.. I was aiming for 20 listed today and have done more0 -
Well I managed to clean the bathroom, and fishtank and have done another load of washing and folded up. Just need to set about putting all the clothes away later when kids are in bed I think.
My neighbours music has been on ALL day and it's now driving me insane!! From being woke to it at 6am I think they still have the same CD on now! I like dance music but not the same songs over and over arghhhh!! I did put some music on myself at one point and turned the speaker to face their wall........:D they got the messsge then for about half an hour and the littlies thought it was fab, their own disco! I think I might have to resort to that again......off to find some heavy metal or something:rotfl:
anyone with any other ideas please let me know??DFW no.630!

Of course you can.. anything I can do to help!!
One more idea.. don;t wait until he is screaming and desperate to feed.. it is agony when they suddenly latch on and behave like they've never been fed.. feed him more frequently if you can to stop him being ravenous.. I always used to do the 'just 1 more minute' thing with the younger ones as I was so busy with the older ones... resulting in a 45 minute feeding session with an upset starving baby.. Tiddles stopped feeding at 6 months when we moved house and I lost the plot... but one of my others was 2.5/3ishLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi everyone!
Hugs to G&B, that is awful news.
cha97michelle, I breastfed my little one, developed mastitis after a few days, was given antibiotics and then developed thrush because of the antibiotics. It still brings a tear to my eye thinking about it. I was so much pain for so long, it made me cry just thinking about feeding him. The thrush went undiagnosed for weeks as well, I just kept being told by midwife - 'Oh it will get easier, your nipples just have to get used to it'. It was only when I spoke to my health visitor who suggested I speak to one of the breastfeeding counsellors (breastmates they call them here!) that the suggestion of thrush came about. The doc then gave me cream and my LO oral gel but it still went on for a couple more weeks until I went back to my doctors and practically had to beg for help and then he gave me some tablets for the thrush and happily it cleared up! I then continued feeding LO until just before his first birthday!

Have you tried knocking on the door and asking them to turn it down a little? Or have I missed something and you've got some neighbours from hell next door? Or have the parents gone out for the day and the kids are home alone having a party?
If it's REALLY bad, you could always try phoning environmental health at the council.
But hugs anyway, I know just what it's like..I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

DS1 and 2's bedrooms both done. I've been skiving in their rooms and boy did it show - never mind done now.
Just doing a bit of ironing and then to pack my clothes - everybody elses done and a last little bit of toiletries. Then just stuff for the car to do an to find a book I fancy reading. We are leaving at 6:30 so I want have time to log on.
If I'm not back this evening then wishing you all a good half term, be back at the weekend. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Soappie-I don't get on with my neighbours much anyway but I would have gone and knocked on the door but they don't use their front door they use the back door through their yard and I wasn't going to do that. I don't actually think it's our neighbours because I haven't seen them I have a feeling they are on holiday, I did just ask over the yard wall if they could turn it down and they have a bit. Spoke too soon they truned it back up!
((hugs)) Michelle, I breastfed both mine but not for very long as I found it very painful but always regret not persevering
Some great ideas there Pigpen lol!DFW no.630!
