Whilst I was away, the kids forgot to put food out for the birds so I put some out last night but no-one came. This morning, it's a different matter...

I've just spent the last ten minutes looking out the kitchen window going "Awwww, how sweet!". My regular sparrows have clearly had babies. There were four little fledglings with Mum and Dad greedily tucking in to the food on the ground. One was still doing the 'feed me, feed me' bit to its Mum. They have all clearly only just learnt how to fly.

It brought a great big smile to my face :D

    Morning all

Sorry about your work colleague GnB

Raining here, has been for hours. One load of washing draped round upstairs. Roast dinner roasting. My cakes seem OK that I made yesterday. Couldn't fit two sandwich tins side by side like I could with the old cooker but I swapped them round a bit and it turned out all right. I'm sure I'll soon get the hang of it.

No, I'm a bit up from you - in the oil capital :)
Trouble is we are not all in the oil industry so a lot of people struggling to afford the prices.

We have a similar problem, except not with oil. We are not in the highly paid finance industry so the only thing we could afford to buy would be a lock-up garage!

I've been scratching my head so much I've got splinters and can't work out what O/O and fp are in relation to houses. It must be a Scottish thing. Can you enlighten me?

    Afternoon all

It has been pouring here all morning, which is good as it saves me watering everything before we go away.

Nearly finished DS1 room so then I'll pack his stuff on move on to the next room.

Hungry now so lunch first I think. I have a soup to try for MR so will do that.

G&B hugs to you, life is just so unfair and unpredicatable, my Nan always says the good ones go first (she's 88 so not saying much for herself bless her)

GandB - (((((hugs))))) to you and your colleagues. It's so sad, especially when it's someone so young.

AnW's mum - I hope you and the children have a lovely time (and I'm sure you'll manage to sort the loo!)

I'm not happy! I inherited my mum's locket and a few weeks ago, the triangular shaped bit (I forget what the jeweller called it) vanished. Fortunately, I was at home so didn't lose the locket. I took it to the jeweller's and it cost £25 to have a similar one put on. This morning, having finally found a photo of Mum to fit, I put it in beside Dad's and found I couldn't close the locket. DD and I both tried - very carefully- and then the hinge snapped! I'll take it back to the jewellers next week, but by the time I'm finished, I could have bought a new one. :o:rotfl:

Oh well, off to do a bit more flying because we're hoping to go to Newcastle Emlyn/Cenarth Falls tomorrow for the day to see DB and family at the caravan (SIL's parents - I wish!)

LOL, I know - heh heh I'm going to Hull :D (I'll need directions, M62 isnt it?)

yep.. M62.. and you will be better off parking at my house and getting the commoner wagon to the stadium there is NO parking there!!!

They are ripping the top off the stadium next week to upgrade it.. it was built with this in mind.

I can't believe they are up.. 5 years ago they were going to shut the club as it was doing so badly and had about 20 season pass holders!! Amazing what a bit of investment and interest can do. I am SO glad it was Deano scored.. in the pub last night they have sky sports on and every time he came on everyone went mad.. it was fabulous.. I remember Hull signing him when he was a wee lad.. there was a huge thing in the paper.. I was about 12 I think!! and so far there has been no trouble here!! Though the police presence was VERY noticable.

Anyway.. I am out of bed now.. hubby got up about 10 and I stayed there.. I was awake but slobbed!

Off to list some ebay stuff!!
