Evening all
Thank you soooooooooo much Pigpen for the weekend off. We're all going to Cardiff tomorrow afternoon to support my hairdresser (pm me if you want to vote for her - Nations Favourite Hairdresser regional finalist - and improve her chance of winning - I don't think I'd be allowed to put link on here).
DH did a few jobs before he cleared off for the weekend.I told him he couldn't go out to play unless he did.
Zara - I think everyone else has said it! I agree with them all, you are a wonderful Mum, doing what you feel is important and best for your family, and it's no one else's business. Huge hugs to you. Just keep coming on here where you know you will be supported and "loved" and never mind anyone who has such a narrow little life that she has to interfere in yours! (I would have pm'd you, but I can't for some reason. Feel free to pm me anytime. I'd even give you a call to try and cheer you up.:))DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Evening.
Thanks for the weekend off Pigpen - I wasn't going to do anything tomorrow anyway because it is my birthday and I shall be expecting everyone to run around after me for a change. Starting as I mean to go on I've had a nice bath and now enjoying a nice glass of wine. Plenty left in the bottle for everyone. May even treat myself to some choccies later.
Zara - hugs to you. Ignore what other people say. A mother that I know will only be friends with people who live in large houses. Lucky escape for me as I don't have a mansion.
Have a good evening all.0 -
Oh rats - just written a long and entertaining post (??!! liar) and it's vanished into cyberspace.
Hugs to zarazara.
Have a great weekend everyone. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

Sorry Dusty but you're going to have to stop telling us what you do in your garden as I only have one image in mind now!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow.....could I wear a deep cerise/purple top with a pair of dark brown smart trousers. I think it looks good together but my brain is saying brown and purple shouldn't go together....opinions please xx0

This is the top
http://www.mandco.com/bin/venda?ex=co_wizr-productgrid&bsref=mackays&step=shopcartmulti&invt=1080725&ordercol=alphanu
though it's slightly more cerise than the picture shows. It's a casual wedding in a field! xx0 -
I love purple and brown and would wear them together and as you are as mad as me you should too. Have a fab day.
Kids not in bed but doing magic tricks on each other so not bugging me.
I am ironing so it feels like Sunday (the only day I usually iron) Got loads of the school uniform done ready for kids going back to school.
OH still not home, no word, bet he is in a pub. I am drinking a lovely rose cava, well it is Chelsea week. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Have you ever read that poem about wearing purple? My mum gave it me a few years and I love it. It totally sums up my mum's sense of humour as she's told me she wants me to read it at her funeral!!!!! Hopefully not for a while yet!0

Pigpen that suits me fine, still got my dailies to do but DP is away at an event tomorrow which is local so the boys want to go to see him, think an afternoon on Shields beach might be in order if the weather comes out as promised. We're away Sunday so nothing will be done then, I still need to sort someone out to let the dogs out, really unsure what to do because DPs brother was supposed to be letting them out, I don't want to leave them for nearly 10 hours without being let out, will have to phone round tomorrow see who can out of the few people I know Megan won't bite. Monday it's forecast for rain (nothing unusual there being bank holiday) so I won't mind working then. Actually that's a good point, I might have to cut the front lawn at least before we go out tomorrow as it's a little wildnerness out there at the mo, everyone else in the street has now done their's, the shame of it
:rotfl:
Been shopping for stuff to make picnics for tomorrow and Sunday, boys were chaos, end of term Friday is probably the worst time to take them, will remember that for next time, didn't have much choice this time as I'd rather take them Friday evening than a busy Saturday, nearly lost my temper with a few who chose to 'stare' but managed to keep my cool and get everything I needed.
Home, unpacked everything then had bleeding child to deal with, stupid DP had left a razor blade next to the sink. He's been cleaned up and spray plastered, love that stuff because both the boys are plaster phobic, will deal with his Dad later! I get sick of having to move them as he always leaves them but because I dashed out I haddn't been upstairs to clean up after him.
Anyway, chaos over, both boys now in bed, so having half an hour 'sitting' time as my feet hurt. I've done whites wash inc my 'white with yellow polka dot' bath mats (someone remind me never buy white ones again with 3 males in the house!) Need to make DPs food for tomorrow, then the rest I think can wait until tomorrow.
Mudbath whatever you decide to wear I hope you have a lovely day. I'm a black trousers or jeans person, I haven't been to a wedding for a very long time and would be totally lost as to what to wear!
DavGirl1 hope you have a really wonderful birthday!!
Hope you're all enjoying your evening. One day I might be more organised...........

Davgirl - for tomorrow :bdaycake: have a fandabidozi day!
Mudbath - love that poem, but the following is what we had in the Order of Service for Mum last year, although we didn't have it read. (Sister read one about a ship - Parable of Immortality by Henry Van Dyke
The Heavenly PlaygroundOh God, I’m not anxious to snuff it,It’s from a CD called “City of Gold”.
but when the Grim Reaper reaps me,
I’ll try to rely on
my vision of Zion,
I know how I want it to be.
As soon as you greet me in Heaven,
and ask what I’d like, I shall say,
“I just want a chance
for my spirit to dance,
I want to be able to play.
Tell the angels to build a soft playground,
designed and equipped just for me,
with a vertical slide
that’s abnormally wide,
and oceans of green PVC.
There’ll be reinforced netting to climb on,
and rubberized floors that will bend,
and no one can die,
so I needn’t be shy
if I’m tempted to land on a friend!
I’m gonna go mad in the soft, squashy mangle,
and balmy with balls in the swamp,
coloured and spherical,
I’ll be hysterical!
I’ll have a heavenly romp!
There’ll be cushions and punch bags and tires
in purple and yellow and red,
and a mushroomy thing
that will suddenly sing
if I kick it or sit on its head.
There’ll be fountains of squash and ribina
to feed my continual thirst,
and none of that stuff
about “You’ve had enough,
surely heavenly bladders won’t burst.
I suppose I might be too tall for the entrance,
but Lord, chuck the rules in the bin.
If I am too large,
tell the angel in charge
to let me bow down and come in.
Adrian Plass
Over and over, in Mum's papers we found references to "smiling" and she had an amazing sense of humour, so we thought it was very fitting. She also like "Big Band" style music (Glen Miller) so we had a Salvation Army piece (she was an officer) called "Lightwalk" to go into the crematorium.
We had many people say they had never experienced such a "happy" funeral. she would have loved it. We had 2 bearers in full Highland dress (she was a Scot), too!
I said a bit more than I meant there, was only going to give you the poem, but............
And so, to bed...................DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419
