Dustykitten wrote: »Pooh nice that your lads are still happy to share even at that age. Can I be nosey and ask if you have more than one shower? We have one in the bathroom but a second would be handy.
Dustykitten Yes we have two showers. This was a guest house before we bought it so it has a wash basin in every bedroom and even had one in what we made playroom. They are great for teeth cleaning and now coming into their own with lads shaving too.
We also had three bathrooms but I decided that was too many so I had one made into laundry room as its downstairs, but kept the loo and basin in there. That left just one shower and as the kids all got older I realised I had made a mistake by getting rid of a shower so had another put in over the bath in the en suite. The en suite is used by all as it's in an empty bedroom.

I'm feeling totally miserable today. i should be in work. i rang them yesterday and said i wont be going anymore. i just cant face it. i never seem to get anywhere. theres a person in our village who winds me up, always asking how me and mine "squash" into our little house. i work part time, started 2 months ago after 20 yrs at home as a full time mum. i feel overwhelmed, i cant see anything for the money i've earned as i've had to buy my eldest a washing machine, fridge and baby things. the youngest is still at home and i feel i owe him things too having spent so much on the eldest. we've struggled for years and i just never get any further forward.and then i get be-littled by people in the village and then theres the rich people who buy organic and fair trade and are always asking me to dontate to their causes. i just dont know what to do anymore."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

ZaraZara - hugs hun, sounds like you are having a tough time at the moment. I really wouldnt let other opinions of your "little" house get you down. The place we are renting till we decide where we want to move to is the smallest place we have ever had. Its a 2 bed bungalow with a kitchen in a cupboard but you know what I love it! Its so easy to keep clean. Next time they ask just say "I love it give me an hour and its cleaned right through, leavingme loads of me time;) ". As for donating to other causes could you not just say that you have a specific charity that you donate to so sorry but no you cannot sponsor them. Easier said than done. As for your son can you not explain that DD situation means she needs help now so funds are low but that in the future when he moves out/has baby etc you will be there to support him too. It seems silly putting yourself under so much stress.
We made it in just before the heaven opened, looks like we maybe in for thundering and lightening has that feel/look to it. Bedding plants all done, goodness it takes a long time with 2 "helpers". Must go throw the stuff in the BM for rolls later and check the gammon in the slow cooker. Smells lovely but its making me soooooo hungry.0 -
My flying has taken a bit of a crash landing the ast two days! Went to chiro yesterday which took most of day and popped into see little brother who managed to have a chip pan fire the day before - eek! luckily not too much damage.
Been swimming with DD and a friend today and had lunch out, kept on top of some dailies and managed to do a bit of washing of all the newborn stuff I've dragged out again. Other than that it has been working on the blasted NCT magazine, I've spent 16 hrs designing it so far and reckon it'l be at least another 16 before I;m done. Some other mug will have to do it next time cos I'll have two under 2's and my translation course is suffering already for volunteering to do this...
Hugs to all who need them, there seems to be a major need for them at the moment. And can I be nosy Pigpen? Have you ever counted up how many loads of laundry you do a week? I suspect a spot of laundry schadenfreude might get me through the next few months...!

(((zarazara))) oh honey I really feel for you. That person must be very unhappy with their own life to try to belittle you. Please dont let her win. She is probably jealous of your lovely family.0

I love today's level one! I'm currently having my half hour, whilst DS is napping and will strip the cot once he gets up. May vacuum later but am always to scared to do it during nap times in case he wakes up (he's a grotbags if his sleep gets interrupted, just like his mummy!)Taking baby-steps :beer:0

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm really poor too, I decided to have my babies before doing the career thing and most of the women I met had gone the opposite way so had huge houses and nice cars. I'm living in a pokey two bed semi with only 20 pound a week to feed two adults and occasionally a 5yo and child benefit for my DS who's a baby. I then met some wonderful women of all different backgrounds and one who is the mother of 5. She started off in a dingy council flat, moving on to a house in an estate for low incomes. She now lives on a posh new estate and hated it at first. But she's taught me that it doesn't matter where you are, it's who you are that matters.Taking baby-steps :beer:0 -
