Wow, I assumed my credit was shot as well, but I just applied for an Additions account and a Kays account online and was accepted with £300 and £600 credit limits respectively, and I already have a Littlewoods account with a £675 limit too! Doubt I will use them all but I am amazed, especially as they are all the same company! Well chuffed. Will run them well and once my remaining settled defaults fall off my credit file by Dec, I should have a nice healthy credit file!!
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -

This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Great ideal about the thread.
I applied for a Capital One card a few weeks ago, I passed the credit check and was sent the agreement to sign, however I signed and returned it only to be told on the phone last week after a review of my application they have refused it this time.
If anyone knows any credit cards for people with a default and afew late payments do please post!!
Thanks and again, well done on this threadDELETE ACCOUNT.

thanks skyrider, no dont mind sharing that. i recently applied for and was accepted for vanquis thought had been rejected at first but the following week had a phone call to say that i had been accepted with a limit of 250. :T Was pleased because i have a default on my file which is now fully paid. so was'nt to sure if i would be accepted for it although am trying to keep a regular watch on my credit rating, it has gone up since i last checked it in march. How long should i keep it before trying to apply for a more mainstream card and how much should i spend on it as only want to use it at the bare minimum so i can afford to pay it off in full each month like i did this month.:jMBNA 0% ends 10/04/2020 £15843

I'm afraid that default will probably prevent you from getting those ever-fabled 0% cards for six years - that's how long a default stays on your credit file. With the interest rate its probably wise to pay your balance off in full each month. As someone else suggested in another thread - use it to pay for your petrol instead of cash, keep the cash to one side then pay the balance in full.0
