Littlewoods are quite generous with their credit limits as well ... mine started at £400 is now £1650 and my Next account started at £200 and now £1500 .. in just over a year ...

I think they are great, both Kays and Littlewoods are 0% APR.

Yeah and Littlewoods has good online service and great delivery as well. I have a Freemans as well and the service is well under par in comparison ... Great stuff to buy though .. :D (But stingy with their limits)

  • Hi

I was just reading with interest!

Have the Capital One cashback card, did have the high APR one a few years back, but closed it and managed to reapply for the cashback card in January, good credit limit, originally £2000 and now £2500.

Also, on the point of catalogues, I'd never had one, an account I mean, before, I used to order and pay on my card. Had an offer recently to open an Additions account and receive £20 off an order over £25, well, I thought, because husband's credit rating was poor and I've not actually had credit very long really, that I'd get nowhere. Anyway, applied, thinking I'd get a big fat no, blow me got a yes and initial credit limit of £1500  . That was a few months back, bought a pair of jeans and paid it off, haven't used it since.

Got a letter about the same offer with Great Universal, so, thought I'd do the same and I kind of thought they'll say no as well, partly because they are the same group (Littlewoods), but got a yes and an amazing limit of £3500  !!

Bought what I needed to, paid it off and haven't touched it since, bit scared to really as these are my first credit accounts in years.

Will use both as I need to, not when I don't and just pay off when statement arrives.

Strangely, same time last year was being declined left right and centre for just about everything, aside from my Citi account, despite no bad info on my credit report, just association with husband who got into difficulty, something seems to have changed.......
