Well, in protest to louiser being treated like sh@t, I am closing my account with them on Monday, the stuff is crap anyway, most of it is "Everything's a Pound shop" styli and they don't do interest free either, I have £1000 limit with Kay’s and £400 with Littlewoods and it is all interest free for 12 months so I will take pleasure in telling JD Williams that their stock is crap as is their service and attitude towards customers. BAD CATALOGUE! :naughty:
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Oh, it's been a few busy days here :) louiser123 if there's an option of paying minimum with interest and paying it in full without, I wouldn't use the first to make them any more money...

BTW, last week I tried to apply for a capital one card for real, they just promised feedback in 7 days, and exactly 7 days later, they turned me down... Although the letter is dated just 2 days after the application, yeah right.

The application was a bit weird as well, as they ask for a previous UK address in the last 2 years, which I don't have -- but when I mucked around, I accidentally entered the previous country name in the postcode field, and that went through fine.

Capital one claimed "your..credit score was too low for us". Well, their web page says, that this card is for people "with no credit history, for example, who never used credit in the past, or new to the country". I wonder with a couple months of actual history from a real account, how much lower credit score would I have than those folks with no credit history at all??? :(

I guess what it boils down to is that I'm not on the electoral register, or more annoyingly, not according to the CRAs. I'm not touching anything until I can be sure I'm on the roll...
    Enjoy the silence...

    Hey Guys :santa2:

How's it going :D OH has had man flu for the past week and has finally passed it on to me  So I've been feeling really fluey and achey and generally not happy. I'm supposed to go to a 30th birthday lunch tomorrow and then a family Xmas party tomorrow night. But I ain't going no where if I continue to feel like this - it sucks

Louiser - sorry to hear about the drama. Sod them and cancel the account - they're not worthy of your business anyway.

I bit the bullet and applied for an Abbey remortgage today. They're doing the credit check on Monday  Nervous weekend for me lol. I have a feeling I'll be rejected. Anyway, thought I would check out what would happen if my current mortgage with SPML (Sub Prime - natch ;) ) just carried on its course after the fixed rate expires. Turns out it's not too bad - not at the moment anyway. When my fixed rate ends I go on a rate which tracks the base rate by 2.49%. So at the current time my APR would be 4.29%. Not bad considering I'm paying 6.39%!!!!

So I'm taking a philisophical view. If I get accepted for the Abbey, and the valuation works in my favour, then I'll take that product (5.84%) fixed for 3 years. This in itself would save me £50 a month on what I'm paying now. If they reject me, then I'll just go onto SPMLs variable and ride it out - until I can get a fixed. Life's too short to be stressing so much.

No I don't bank with them. Mind you I have an old ISA that's got about £2.00 in it lol. I don't think that will help.

I just don't feel optimistic - can't see getting a half decent mortgage until my defaults drop off - and that won't be until April 2013 :p

Anywhoos, how are you?? Looks like you've been keeping this thread lively! Any luck with your cc apps?
