I cant quite believe the morning I have had. Got a call from a company telling me I have been the victim of ID theft, when I checked its true!!!
I am in Shock! I guess the good thing is, this company acted straight away as it only happened this morning.
They said they were going to set up a CIFAS password for me, so that if I applied for credit anywhere else, I would have to give a specific password which should stop the other person getting more credit in my name, this wont affect my credit rating will it?0 -

Hello everyone.
I have a received a response from Sygma with regards to my CIFAS.. apparently because I moved in to my current address in 2002, but wasn't listed onto the electoral register till 2005 as it was a new property, (council couldn't find it apparently!!) this is the reason. As the new tenants of my old property hadn't bothered to add their details on to the electoral register mine had kept running till I re-registered on it for my new address. So because there are cross wires between moving in dates and registration on electoral register...this resulted in the CIFAS!!
So know I have to prove every little detail before Sygma will remove the CIFAS....what a palava:eek: Debts: Capitalone £0, Vanquis £220, LX Direct £1197, Mutual £1107, JD Williams £23 :eek:0 -
So what do you have to do next?0

Hi everyone. So I have bitten the bullet and made some application.s I tried virgin on the off chance first but not surprisingly they laughed in my face.
Have also applied for Vanquis but got the 10-14 days response, give us more time to tell you you hvae no chance. So will update if I ever hear back. Wish me luck.Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08
ANOTHER 4 % June 09:beer:0 -
So what do you have to do next?
I have to prove I have lived where I say I have since I moved in, in 2002! so this can match with my CRA report dates. Also I have to get a letter from the council stating what date I left my previous property as it was a council property!
So they know I am telling the truth about the dates and so they can see the electoral role mix up is actually a mix up and not me trying to play the system as they call it (Leave bad debt at one property, and say I lived elsewhere longer than I have to claim more credit)
I wouldn't mind but I only had 2 defaults and 1 CCJ at my previous property anyhow which were both settled not long after I moved :eek: Debts: Capitalone £0, Vanquis £220, LX Direct £1197, Mutual £1107, JD Williams £23 :eek:0 -
Anyhow what do you think now I am in the process of proving i'm not a fraudster..shall I re apply for Flybe pmsl :rotfl::eek: Debts: Capitalone £0, Vanquis £220, LX Direct £1197, Mutual £1107, JD Williams £23 :eek:0
