This CIFAS think is getting out of control.

Yeah CIFAS is no joke. Apparently they feed info to and from law enforcement.

My friend did not get charged because there was no evidence she'd done anything wrong. But she did lose her job over this. She also now has not one but TWO CIFAS markers on her credit files. She has written endless letters trying to get them removed but I am not sure it is even possible to have CIFAS markers removed (aside from the protective ones that you put on there yourself).

CIFAS really is a disgusting entity and it is time they were exposed. They can literally ruin innocent people's economic lives.

im getting so confused with this sigma thing!! i have checked both hubbys and my reports, i was accepted instant for flybe got sygma search and creation finance search but creation was a follow up not a full search, no fraud or cifas! not yet anyway.
hubby was declined by letter a few days after application, he had sygma search, creation finance search as follow up and creation financial services fraud search but it does say the searches in that section are not used in a lending descision and cannot been seen by other lenders again no cifas. but who knows i have used my flybe card a lot this month as have booked holiday ect and done some xmas shopping so it a bit bloody late to think im fraudulent now!!!

Hi Everyone,

very quiet on here today!

Just to let everyone know the CIFAS is now showing on Experian too..but I have sent my letter off with all the proof I can send!!

However I have had some good news Credit Plus have accepted me for a car loan..just waiting to hear from the underwriters to see how much I'm allowed to spend on a car...Woohoo

What it will be to have a car that has a working wiper motor, and doesn't shake when you hit 60mph and doesn't roll away even with the handbrake on lol..

I'm so excited :T

good for you lets know what you get is your credit rating really poor? I applied for flybe got declined yesterday but not even seen a search on the credit file.

Good! Are the underwriters worried about the CIFAS at all?

Hi guys,

I recently applied for a Flybe card and was turned down. All this talk about CIFAS markers now has me worried.

Do all (or some) of you have monthly or annual memberships to the CRA's respective sites to check your files regularly? Is it worth it? I'm not sure which one to go for, Equifax want £70 for a year's membership and Experian want £50. Is it better to go for both or just one?
