Sorry to confuse, I'm just going on personal experience. When reading up on credit files, I thought I would put a note on to explain my defaults. But then I read somewhere, that it is not always advantagous (sp?) as then the lender will be forced to carry out a manual assessment, and as they're lazy bums lol, some don't want the effort or inclination to do this and so just decline you. It's a bit of pot luck really as you may apply for a lender who will check manually and will see your explanation of your CCJ and agree to lend (ie Cap 1), or you may get a lender who says I don't have the time and resource to check manually so screw you and bye bye. But there's no way of knowing who does this and who doesn't?
At the end of the day, anyone searching your file will see your satisfied CCJ and won't give a flying hoot of you're contesting it or not. Personally, I would remove the notice. But that's just me - and I am blond lol0 -
i have sent a email to remove it from my files give it six months and try againyou cant change yesterdaybut you can make tomorrow better0

When he started demanding a sort code/acc no I lost my temper slightly.....I hope it's sorted!
If I find it hasn't.....I shalt kill him lol
It was probably the guy's first day and you've scarred him for life lol. But no, definitely no account no and sort code on a cc. Always a 16 digit number only
Except maybe for Amex, not sure how many digits they have. Mind you, when I activated mine I went to use it for my Tesco online shopping and it wouldn't go through. When I called up their CS (very helpful), they told me that Amex's security code is the 4 digit number on the top corner of the front of the card. How random lol0 -

I've always felt bad for the call centre guys as they're just the messengers and get shot down all the time by customers. I always make an effort to be as polite as possible as it seems to yield better results.
I had a problem with Egg a couple of months ago as they hadn't marked a file as settled and tried to claim I still owed them £500. I was so angry, cos I'd worked my !!!! to pay this off, but kept my cool and was really nice to the guy. He actually said that I was the nicest customer he'd had for a while and what a change it makes as he was used to dealing with grumpy customers, and he agreed there and then to wipe the remaining £500 and mark my file as settled, which happened a couple of weeks later. Moral of the store, niceness gets you further lol
He, he, he Darcy had a barny with the British Gas call centre about defaults, it could have been you lol0 -
Oi thats mean! I said I "used" to work for them, implying not any more lol. Hated it, not enough people did their jobs properly, making mine even harder!0

There you go Darcy. The American Express Platinum Cashback Card. More than just a card. Read it and weep lol.
Seriously tho, I have 2 settled defaults on my file and got it, so maybe you might be in better luck if you have your notice of correction removed?0
