    Evening all,
Today i got an email with a copy of credit agreement, also saying when i applied it would have stated if i were successful and what my limit would be-this agreement does not confirm acceptance???? Now what? Dont know if i have been accepted or not. They not checked experian either.
They send this email out as a std email weather accept or not, Vanquis gave me a card and they did not do a search. ;)

We only bought our house 18 months ago and got our mortgage through SPML - sub prime. Only found out a few weeks ago that SPML are owned by Lehman Brothers  . I know we won't get a prime lender but even if I can find another sub prime at a similar apr to our current one. What with the current market, I'm starting to get a bit nervous :o

SPML Sub Prime Mortgage Lender :D

Did exactly the same thing. Went with SPML 18 months ago. Had a good broker though (IMO). Gave me loads of choices, asked whether we wanted 2 year fixed rate, 5 year etc.

We decided to go with a 2 year fixed rate as I hope to be well enough to be working again by the time 2 years is up, reasoning that come 2 years, we would have a better income and be able to re mortgage with a much better rate.

Wish I had done 5 years fixed now.

But Southern Pacific have been great for me. We had a very large interest secured loan before we got our mortgage. The mortgage cut our payments nearly in half.

    Currently on 5.29%

So these Sub Prime Mortgages, are they underwritten by the main banks or is it all private lending etc?

Isnt it a pathway provided by the main banks? Thats my understanding.
