Mr P added this to the front page a while ago but not much talk on thread about this one prob because you have to apply in branch.

I haven't applied for that but I did apply for the "initial" one here:

    http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal-home/index.html

(card 8 of 12). They said they'd get back to me but it's probably a no!! I hope not as I want 2 credit cards and have got my bank of scotland one but the one MBNA offered me has an annual charge of £25 (it is the £100 deposit one) I would rather not pay the charge if I don't have to though so will wait to get the F off letter from barclaycard before I sign anything!!
  • Would just like to say that Vanquis rang today and i have been accepted. :beer:This is the first step on the ladder to enable me to get my financial life back to normal.

Was so surprised when they rang and after them giving me the info that i forgot to ask what my credit limit will be. But am sure that will all be in the information pack that they said they will be sending.

PS. What is the best way to spend on the card so that they see me as a good risk and to up my credit score.

    Once again many thanks

    Morning all!

darcyvuqua - just a thought, perhaps you could go down the Data Protection route with BG? Perhaps try serving up Section 10 notice on them?

    See: http://www.opsi.gov.uk/Acts/Acts1998/ukpga_19980029_en_3 (refer to S10)

The 'damage' in your case being your credit worthiness taking a battering because of information they have recorded improperly.

Hi all not sure if posting in the right bit, but been reading the posts and thought you lot could help ;) I went bankrupt in Jan 2003 and discharged in April 2006, i have only managed to get a debit card about 10 months ago which is great, but really wanted to start rebuilding my credit, the sub prime c.c's always say 'NO', so i applied for a next account, which will be handy to buy clothes for kids, anyway i had a letter from them asking for proof of address, which i sent back my bank statement, do you think this is good or bad?

    Thankyou x x

Called Monument yesterday just for a general query and the guy put me straight through to the Fraud dept, I was told my card has had a block placed on it due to a routine security check with new customers, so I had to cycle down to work fax 6 documents off to prove my identity, even though the ID check was done on the initial application, sent off the doc's, phoned up to chase them up and they had not got them, told the fax number I was sending to was incorrect, three hours later doc's arrive at fax machine and kind lady sorted it out and took the block off my card, it looks like I was a "random" check candidate then.

What 6 documents did you have to send? Six sounds like an awful lot!!!

Well I was asked to send in as much as I could, so I wasn’t going to give them a chance to say "oh dear we need more", very strange as to why they had done it though.
