    Hey Darcy

MBNA was a good call mate thanks for all the info you posted. Can I just asked what made you apply in the first place I thought you were laying off the old apply button:rolleyes: .

Seems MBNA have only been offering this card for a couple of months now and it is directly aimed at people trying to build up some sort of payment history. I had my credit agreement arrive in the post today and the leaflet enclosed reads on the front
“CREDIT, GET IT ! BUILD IT ! ENJOY IT ! “:D

The card design is fairly similar to the one skyrider posted apart from the MBNA logo on the top right is a little different and no hologram logo on the front although this is just off the leaflet may well have the hologram on the front of the card when it arrives.

Agree with Sammy_Girl it can’t just be your credit file that’s looked at. Home land line must play a part and work telephone number and length of time with employer plus your current available credit and the percentage of which is used must all come into the mix.

Although I not a very active MSE user I enjoy reading all the post’s and following everyone’s progress and will help when I can.

It would be very interesting to see in 6 months time how many of us who have been accepted for MBNA card actually get the "upgrade" to a better deal or will we be left with thiscard, as long as they remember to give us our £100 back.

So my paperwork did arrive today for the £100 MBNA deposit card.

It's clearly aimed at rebuilding credit, the paperwork/leaflet that comes states that.

i'm a little dissapointed in that my APR is 29.9% for purchases and cash withdrawls given that some people have been offered it at 19.9% however I do not plan to run up any interest on it if possible anyway.

£100 cheque in the post tomorrow morning.

Also they asked how much the monthly mortgage/rent payment was, and your annual income and household income, so I guess they see if proportianally you have enough available income?

    All interesting stuff

Just applied and was asked to call and speak to them Spoke to an underwriter who asked me no questions at all, and then said I had been declined, based on adverse information on my credit file from the past. I have no outstanding defaults at all, she said it was purely based on old information from the past, but she then said, it was 6 years from the date that any defaults were SATISFIED, not the date they were registered, that the info would no longer show up on my credit files. Is this right? Have they changed the rules? If so, thats me screwed for any new credit cards until Oct 2013.

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.
