well done on the mint card and the credit limit too, cant wait to say bye to capital 1 myself0

Cheers, it's been a long old slog, still not completely clear but things are on the up and I put it down to a lesson learnt. Must admit, I do kind of thank Capital One for giving me the opportunity to get back on the ladder so to speak, although they made plenty out of me at the same time .0

what was you credit limit then DazzieB??
thats a good limit mint gave you, i like Mint i think their deals are cracking and the apr isnt bad either ..
why do Cap 1 increase peoples limits and never decrease them, often wondered that, Barclaycard/Cap1/Virgin/Mbna are the worst for it i reckon!0 -
The Capital One limit was at £1600 for a couple of years at least, they would never increase the limit if I asked (which I did several times), probably just as well as I would have been in their debt forever otherwise.
They upped it to £2600 in their letter, quite an increase. They obviously thought that offering me more would tempt me to stay. I would rather they kept the limit as it was and dropped the APR to a sensible 16%, but that wouldn't have made them as much money, not what they wanted!
It's funny, but they never directly answered my in depth questions about the APR when I questioned it, always skipped round it but saying they couldn't do anything about it, hmm . Once I had the money together to be able to close the account I questioned it again, received the same response. I suppose I couldn't do anything about closing my account in return, 2 can play that game.

Good post Daz..
reducing apr would of ment more money their way because you would of spent more, when will they realise apr is more important than the limit once you get settled with your card...0 -
Totally off topic but OMG the Beijing Olympic opening ceremony was simply stunning!!!!! Gave me goosebumps watching that breath taking show.

Good morning,
A quick question for the knowledgable folk on the forums.
Does anybody know how long you have to wait before you can re-apply for a Vanquis card? If I remember correctly, I applied about 3 months ago.
Thank you.0 -
