Hi,
Just applied for an Cap1 Classic card and got the following message:-
Thank you for applying for a Capital One Credit Card.
We are currently reviewing your application and need to do some final checks before we can confirm our decision to you.
We will write to you next in the next 7 days to let you know our final decision. We may ask you to send in further information in order to approve your application.
While you are waiting for our decision, please don't re-apply for a Capital One card. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
Is this good or bad? This is my first and I do not have any adverse information on my credit report.

No, its not bad. People often get approved if their application has been referred. Are you on the electoral roll? Do you have any credit history?
edit - just saw that this is your first. Probably why the application has been referred. You have no credit history and are therefore an unknown quantity. You will just have to be looked at in a bit more detail by the underwriters.0 -

Alreet London Mackem Soap Dodger my friend showed me his cap 1 card i thought he said it was a classic but it was mastercard and a nice colour blue, will ask him again when he calls in.. would his be a regular if the apr is around 19%0 -
alrite!!
Just had a look and don't say Classic , I would expect 19% to be a regular card.0 -
hello all,
I have had a capital one classic card for over 3 years, it has a £200 limit and i have never had an increase. i dont really need one, its more the principle. i have had a couple of occassions where i have gone overlimit but that was over a year ago and for most of the last year i was paying in full but to see if it makes a difference i have just been paying the minimum the last few months.
has anyone else never had a limit increase?
should i close the account and reapply in few months?
thanks, Sarah0 -
Going off other posters , if you go over the limit only once it scuppers the credit limit increase. I would be inclined to cancel and reapply after six months.0
