Just found out from a phone call yesterday, every company that I have applied for credit with in the last year is informed by CIFAS of my situation and have to contact me to verify all of the foot prints on my file, !!!! sake the phone started ringing yesterday and I can expect a few hundred more calls to follow!

Carolan is right, utterly normal. You're having separation anxiety. It will pass. Congratulations on your new job:)

Just a quick update to everyone, slightly off the subject but I have just resigned from my company I work for today as I have a new and slightly better paid job secured, feeling !!!! though cos I am leaving all of my mates behind and this is the first job I have held down for a while and it feels as though I have cut my insides out, is this normal?

Not to worry, I have small children so it's a phrase in constant use... My son currently suffers separation anxiety if he is parted from food for any length of time *grin*

  • Phew !!!!!......Iv'e managed to read this thread whilst eating breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper for a whole WEEK

    Seriously though, hello to everyone.
I have been in the same boat as all of you recently and have been lerking on here for ages.
My credit rating has been just terrible for years. Even last year my applications to all the sub-prime cards were turned down.
Last week i again applied to both Capital one and Vanquish. They have now both accepted me. I havn't got the cards yet but i intend to use them very wisely and for my own benefit this time (older and very much wiser)
Just wanted to say that there is hope out there. Just a few months ago i thought no-one is ever going to give me the chance !

My credit reports at the time of applying......

    Mortgage account........all green zeros
    O2..............................all green zeros
    citi loan.......................all green zeros
    Overdraft..................all green zeros
A couple of settled accounts........some with all green zeros and some with reds and yellows.
    2 x defaulted accounts......1 settled, 1 not.
1 x CCJ...settled and due to drop off in Dec 08.

Anyway thanks to all..........i love reading on this site x

    hi all,

just wondered if anyone has much experience with cap 1. i have had mine now for four months my fourth statement is due at the end of the week and according to the agreement i should get a limit increase on this statement, just wondered if they increased limits at 4 monthly intervals and if they give out set increases or are they individual to the cardholder, my initial limit is 100 but i want to book a holiday on the net in the next two months and am hoping it increases a fair bit so i can do that.

any knowlegeable person out there who can advise please??

    thanks in advance

My OH didn't have any credit history so took out a Cap1 four months ago and this month his limit doubled to £2K. He has been spending about £80 and paying if off each month. We were quite shocked but pleasantly surprised too. :T
