Has anyone else had newly displayed '6 food, 1 non-food' sign pointed out to them?
It begins 'We reserve the right to enforce our bulk buying policy' and incorporates the above-mentioned limits. Occurred this week - personable manager told me
all about a website which lists Tesco's misprices, as did yesterday's CS, quote 'Haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to look. I think it's terrific - Mr T can afford it. He's got bags of money.'
Manager said sign was up to 'stop some customers clearing the shelves'. I witheld the obvious rejoinder. Inference? Tesco are happy, ipso facto, to refund up to 6food/1 nonfood per item-type/per customer, against the greater rake-off from those unwittingly overcharged.
However, a curious sentence follows on said notice, gist: this policy is in place to ensure fairness to all customers.
Thanks for the info. I know this should be on the discussion thread but it isn't so I'm replying here. I'm not at all suprised by this have seen some people just risk spoiling it for everyone else because of their greed. I read on one of these Tesco threads someone went to various stores and was refunded a total of £350. Its actions like that that will get this policy pulled. And I actually do like the policy a lot. Personally I must average a matter of pence per week, mostly because of mis scanned items, and I do all my shoping at Tesco. I'm not speaking lots of money but mispriced freebies are nice presents to get.
Anyway did the Manager say anything else? eg is it per visit, per day, per week and do you need to have purchased 6 food items to get your refund on your mispriced non food item? Of course there's always ways and means around these things.
Not found a straight forward mis price yet..and probably somewhere between me scanning it at the price checker and getting to the till the Mr T's big finger upstairs will key in the correct price to the system.
ADDED: TESCO plans to launch an in-store catalogue operation, selling everything from televisions to furniture, putting it on collision course with High Street chains such as Argos, Dixons and Debenhams - Mail on Sunday0 -

It's not the greatest but what can i say for a freebie!
When i first turned it on, it was like a jumbo jet taking off! (think it was the fan, so i stuck some anti-freeze in it)
Any misprices on the routers yet? :rotfl:
 OP
If you have it set up, how are you going to take it back for your refund?
Mine's in it's box until then!

Odd_Fellow wrote:WHY ARE YOU WAITING? What are you waiting for? They've only got to remove the shelf label to enable them to really argue the point. You may have a stickered product, but given that you're currently £448 out of pocket, I think it would be prudent to get this sorted ASAP.
I think the price is on the box not the shelf label. But correct me if I'm wrong.
Congratulations to all who have got a free computer. I'm really jealous. What a find!Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
Why not take advantage of the (local rate) technical helpline or have a word with trading standards re:- a full refund as it seems to make sense what !!!!!! datardly is saying.
One thought, you would need to have real b**ls to do it tho. There may be a little bit of an argument/discussion, but hey at the end of the day if you have the law on you side and trading standards are willing to fight your corner despite the "sweetner" what do you have to lose?? Apart from the possibilty of being barred from your local tesco!!!The best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. It costs nothing and means so much.0 -
Aren't you all getting enough by obtaining food, CDs and Computers for nothing without trying to take things back having "changed your mind"? Jesus, taking advantage of a policy is one thing, but taking the !!!!!! is quite different.0

couldn't agree with you more, mate. This is all getting out of hand and more than a bit distasteful now. Not to mention a bit suspect because that may be obtaining something (a refund on goods you paid nothing for) dishonestly and that's against the law. I couldn't do it morally, but neither would I do it because I wouldn't want to be waiting for my collar to be felt by the law should Tesco decide I had tried to obtain property (in this case, money) by deception.
Drop the greed, guys, you might just push your luck too far.0 -
The lower price is on the box the PC comes in - a box with Tesco on it, as it's been packaged together solely for Tesco. The box says a lower price than was charged. A definite case of overcharging and Tesco doesn't have a leg to stand on. You see, what's happened is that they've ballsed up the barcodes on the two different PC packages. The one with the TFT monitor should be £448 but is scanning at £349. The CRT monitor package is scanning at £448 instead of the price it should be, £349. Trust me on this, Tesco can't get out of this one.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Yeah I agree, just I wanted to know where you stood. If it became faulty, you are still in ure rights to claim a repair or exhange or even a refund if there are no more in stock to replace it with. Checked that on the government website http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/0
