I think the price is on the box not the shelf label. But correct me if I'm wrong.

Congratulations to all who have got a free computer. I'm really jealous. What a find!

Hi Joto, yes you are correct. The SEL refers to the different PC all together. I'm working n the fact that the printed label on the box and the receipt are different. Hope it works out. Odd fellow has made me think....

i have actually been lucky enough to get a CD and a DVD ! i'd like to think that I would find the occasional one in the future, but surely Tesco are going to consider stopping this policy

i guess anyone who gets one is lucky, anyone swapping them for one you do like is even more lucky. but taking them back to another store and getting a cash refund ? how do people think that this is going to affect the credibility of anyone taking up this policy. it could lead to more refusals and arguments with Tesco people on the floor, as they

statutory rights are as follows. if you buy something and you take it back to the shop and say that you changed your mind, you didn't like the colour and you want it in blue, or its a kids movie and you wanted a horror, or you already have the CD and bought another one by mistake, your staturtory rights are tough titties, you bouthg it now.

shops are only obliged to give you a refund or exhange if the product is either A) faulty B) not fit for the purpose of which it was sold to you.

any stores who do allow you to exchange because you changed your mind are doing you a favour, as you don't have any rights to a refund / exchange

so Tescos could arguably say that they are being " abused ". if something is being abused, its a good reason to stop it

I think it is great that Tesco have a policy where they not only give you a full refund but also allow you to keep the product if you have been overcharged. I also think it is slightly worrying that so many products appear to display two different prices, however I dont think this is some evil sinister plan by Tesco to inflate their profits I just think it is human error. What concerns me is that some people seem to be pushing this policy just a little too far. Can everyone who has obtained free food honestly say that they would have bought it anyway? As for getting a double refund, I really do think that is pushing Tesco to the extreme.
In my opinion if this situation carries on Tesco may well change their policy to the detriment of those who have been genuinely overcharged on products they buy.
I do think it is wrong that overcharging occurs but I also believe that exploiting the policy is just as wrong.

WHy is this thread still on the "Grabbit" forum? It's got no bargains in it; just 875 messages of no interest to people who never go to Tesco.
    Can I help?

it's just one single thread set aside for discussions which was created to prevent the actual bargains in the Tesco misprices thread being lost amongst discussions of the policy. This was done by popular demand as people were finding the misprices in the other thread very difficult to locate. Guess you can't please all of the people all of the time :o

You can always ignore it though, it's only one thread ;)

Discussion thread was opened to free up the misprice thread!
If you had followed the misprice thread you'd have understood, plus the fact it helps the MOD!

On saying 'it's of no interest to ppl who never go to Tesco', well if u don't shop with them, then it was a waste of time clicking on the Tesco's threads!

:T Was thinking last night redfox, your idea about splitting the threads is working well.

I hope it isn't too much extra work for you to delete the non misprices posts from the misprices thread, and I for one certainly appreciate a freed up list of misprices.

    Thank you redfox.:A

Was debating this with OH last night. He thinks they will pull the policy due to the computer fiasco. I don't think they can.

They've built themselves up to no. 1 on the supermarket chart. How would it be if they pulled the policy? It would effectively be saying to all their customers "Sorry guys, we can't guarantee our price integrity". Asda and Sainsbury would have a field day!

I don't know if they can change the wording of the policy somehow to ensure that first item is refund and replace and all others bought in the same transaction are refund the difference? This wouldn't stop people in my position who could potentially go to 5 stores in the area and get one of each misprice, but it's a step in the right direction to stop people clearing the shelves, knowing that all the items they were purchasing would be free.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but Asda have an overcharge policy as well.

Went to my local Asda on Sunday and one the way out, noticed my receipt said I'd bought 2 of a particular item when in fact I only had 1. So I went to customer service to get my money refunded ( only £1.88 ... ) ...

I was told by the customer services person that whenever someone gets overcharged they get an automatic £2 gift voucher to spend in Asda .... so, got my £1.88 back plus an additional £2

So ... it pays to check your receipt.
