Tesco misprice policy discussion area

Welcome to MSE Jeff.
The simple answer is yes. Go to the CS desk and say. "Hi, I think I've been overcharged" AFTER you have completed the transaction at the till and tell them what the shelf price detailed and point out the higher price on your receipt. It does work in Express and Metro stores as it's a national policy.
It's well worth writing down your entire shop. My highest good I've had refunded and I kept it was an Annual Travel insurance policy. £100+ refund for me on a product I needed. That was a happy day!
Brit Brat pointed you over to this thread as there have been issues in the past of discussions in the misprice thread, which meant that the actual misprices in store got lost in the discussion.
Don't forget if you do find any misprices yourself to post them in the other thread too.
Thanks very much for your kind answers bylromarha! I intend to go to tescos tomorrow in didsbury and take them to the cleaners!!
Ill let you know how i get on on thursday!!!0 -

this is a great topic -I intend to start looking out at my regular shop, but does anyone have any tips on the quickest way to remember the difeerences? do people walk round with a notebook or what? I'm just thinking it might be a bit difficult to remember what the shelf prices were when I'm at the checkout with a trolly load!!
thanks0 -
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

only had a chat with store manager on saturday who said i was more than welcome in the store.
meat manager also said the policy is for 'genuine customers only' even the i spent £65 and got £14 refunded
I honestly can not beleive this, did you get a letter in writing confirming your unbanning the last time ? This time if you didn't make sure that you do, and just present them with it. They really are unbelievable at times, the sooner we get a central database for actioning these issues as a national force the better, they are going to need a magician to get them out of trouble never mind a lawyer, even Jesus has refused to come out of retirement as the job would be too difficult.Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

So who's going to be the first with a booze bargain tomorrow, now that the current offers have ended?
Not sure I've got the nerve, after another trip to CS today - this time at Leyland. Yet again, chicken kievs were scanning at £2.99 when the SEL said £1.99, so, not in the mood for a fight, I pointed this out to the cashier (I know, I know!!) as she was serving me. Did I want them for £2.99 or to leave them? I'd like them for £1.99 please. Turned out the supervisor only voided off one lot, so was still overcharged for the other. Told CS lady all about my problems at Middlebrook - she was horrified.
So at least it looks like Leyland isn't much of a problem for me!!

Dragged OH to my local T's at 7.30 this morning. Have to say credit where due they had removed all labels from offers no meat wrong either, [they don't stock the large beef joints that Ben posted got that one 2 weeks ago in another store]. So did my shop and used some vouchers [nice persons on self scan let me use quite a few]0 -
Bah - humbug! Not one misprice at my other local extra tonight either! I know, I know it's a good thing really...but I've come to expect the odd free CD/DVD or 6 per visit!
Just exchanged one of my princess diaries for a Disney bogof instead....I'm sure it wont be long till they get sloppy withtheir shelves and stickers again.0 -
I have a new suggestion that is bound to make the xmas number 1 spot escpecially if it is mispriced (album chart), the greatest Tesco's excuse CD. Have been looking through my manual on my MP3 player phillips, I found a rather useful facility an inbuilt microphone.
How forgetful of me not to turn off the recording facility when entering the store, easy to record SEL prices, (although you look kind of loopy saying out prices in the store), and exceptionally good for those occasions where the CS et al, are reluctant to adhere to the policy, or in some instances not sell in the first place. Should be an eye opener on my next call to HQ, for them. Picks up full conversation clearly even when it in my pocket !! Although meat manager must of thought it a bit strange when I was getting my leg right up close to him. :rotfl: Today's CS was alas pretty good, so no chance to wind HQ up. YET
Here is the top 10 tracks on the CD :
1. I don't Like Mondays (its when the new offers come out) (boomtown rats)
2. Profit in Peace (when the customers don't notice) (ocean colour scene)
3. Lucky Man (only one mispriced in the shelf and he picked it) The Verve
4. Please Please Please (can i have my refund in the next hour) James Brown
5. The One (CS telling security guard about persistent offender) Elton John
6. Hallelujah (Customer is refunded after an hour) Leonard Cohen
7. One of Us Must Know (CS and Meat Mgr discuss correct price) Bob Dylan
8. I Still Haven't found What I'm Looking For (MSEr with misprice list) U2
9. Couldn't Get It Right (Tesco's Pricing) Climax Blues Band
10. A Question of Time (before they mess it up if no misprices) Depeche Mode
Been on the wine tonight !! Hic Hic !!Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.
