I have just rang head office & they sid its up to each individual store as to what there policy is & I was told that I could write in a letter of complaint.
This is absolute garbage ring them again and ask to be put through to the one with the brain!

Has anybody ever cleared the shelves with an overcharge?
I didnt simply because my fridge could only hold so much frozen fish!
I always do the check on the in store price checkers on items I suspect are wrong. Once they brought me back to where I bought some orange juice, it had a small price and a large removable sign with a cheaper price. The woman took away the bargain price. I wondered what would happen if somebody had spotted it before me, if they would have claimed I was wrong since there would have been no sign when we went to check.

I pray for the day it happens with vodka, I got smirnoff black priced wrongly in tescos, it was priced very cheaply €10 too little, but that was what they charged me. The next day it was the correct price.

Just come back from my local tescos feeling rather silly. Bought pork shoulder joint for 2.79/kg sel said £2.29/kg, took it to cs lady said she would only refund what I paid. I even took her to see sel & show her there was another joint labelled up like mine amongst the ones tht were labelled up correct. Her reply was someone had put them in the wrong place as you could clearly see my joint was superior quality. RUBBISH there were no more shoulder joints any where, so I felt 1" high, especially as there were 3 people waiting to be served behind me (hope they had more luck than I did). Don't think I shall be trying that again!!!!

Thats a trick they try all the time, before you buy, check the barcode number with the number on the ticket. The number on ticket will have extra digits in front of it, but as long as the barcode number is on there somewhere then its the SAME PRODUCT!!!

Hope you get it sorted, don't let the ***** win!!!

banned from wigan again. meat manager on a power trip cos store manager is on holiday.
only had a chat with store manager on saturday who said i was more than welcome in the store.

meat manager also said the policy is for 'genuine customers only' even the i spent £65 and got £14 refunded

Bens right ring HO and name and shame him. HAD HE GOT PROOF YOU WERE NOT GENUINE NO. This is total bullying & harrasment, [he would be disciplined under Duty of Care, if you were a member of his staff] so being a member of the public he should be disciplined for gross misconduct i.e. bringing the company into disrepute. Little men like him make my blood boil how long is he acting up for?. I have been to Wigan and have got a good mind to visit again this week and really sting them.

No, but one fed up CS once said to me 'next time you see a wrong price take my advice and clear the shelf it might make them price thing right then'.

    I've been Money Tipped!
....but how exactly do i do this? Is it simply a case of buying something paying for it and then going to the CS desk for my refund? What do i say?
Alos would this work in a small tesco express or metro??

    cheers

    Welcome to MSE Jeff.

The simple answer is yes. Go to the CS desk and say. "Hi, I think I've been overcharged" AFTER you have completed the transaction at the till and tell them what the shelf price detailed and point out the higher price on your receipt. It does work in Express and Metro stores as it's a national policy.

It's well worth writing down your entire shop. My highest good I've had refunded and I kept it was an Annual Travel insurance policy. £100+ refund for me on a product I needed. That was a happy day!

Brit Brat pointed you over to this thread as there have been issues in the past of discussions in the misprice thread, which meant that the actual misprices in store got lost in the discussion.

Don't forget if you do find any misprices yourself to post them in the other thread too.

Ok - question. How do you spot the wrongly priced Cds? It is a matter of taking all suspects to the scanner to manually check them? The poster in my local store has blocked out prices in marker pen so I can't refer to that. So far all CDs mentioned on this forum I've taken to the scanner and they've all scanned correctly so I feel a bit of a muppet. Keen to get some freebies especially with Xmas coming up - am I missing something?
    Quidco ~ £3,718 | Greasypalm ~ £354 | Freefivers ~ £45 | Pigsback ~ £260 shopping vouchers + 15 CDs

sorry if this has been asked before, but this is a long thread!

this is a great topic -I intend to start looking out at my regular shop, but does anyone have any tips on the quickest way to remember the difeerences? do people walk round with a notebook or what? I'm just thinking it might be a bit difficult to remember what the shelf prices were when I'm at the checkout with a trolly load!! :)

    thanks
This year, I will mainly be kicking some serious money saving butt! :D
