First the old man tried to argue that these were not the correct chickens. Then he went off with a girl who has served me before for refund and came back shouting that I was very well known to the store for doing this was'nt I.
He then said what did I want. I said well as per your policy please refund and keep.
He said don't you ever make mistakes. Your not being very fair blah blah blah....
I left almost in tears. Yes I have had 3 refunds this month, does that make me a criminal?
Should I ring someone to complain about him, he was so rude to me.
I'll be honest and say I'm no fan of the way people are using this system, but this *is* their policy and they should keep to it. Even if they decline to, there is no way they should treat a customer with that sort of discourtesy.
Yes, complain to HO. Using their policy should make absolutely no difference to the level of service you should receive.
How many times have I used "should" here? Isn't it depressing that I have to say what *should* be happening or not happening?0 -
Now I was expecting a bit of hassle yesterday when I saw who was on CS but I was very surprised.
I got a refund on 4 different meat packs - one being bagged chicken SEL £2.99 and pack £3.99. We went to check the SEL and it had changed during my walk around the store to be the same price as on the pack. I thought that I wouldn't be able to argue so I said that I was surprised it had changed while I was instore and that I had checked it - either that or I was going mad. CS checked with the PID dept and couldn't be sure what had happened so they gave me R&R on it! I was stunned as I was going to accept a refund and put it down to experience.
The only comment I did get was 'did I go looking for these overcharges?' Of course I said no...
So a positive experience came out of something that I thought might be tricky...3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Got a couple of the £3.99 bagged chickens today at Leyland (I needed them and they were none at the correct price of £2.99, so I had no choice). CS called manager, who told them to just charge me £2.99. I asked about their overcharge policy, and they said that the SEL was for a different product - a 1.5kg butter basted chicked, not a 1.5kg butter chicken, basted in the bag. Different barcodes, see? I asked them to show me the SEL for the product I bought and the product relating to the SEL. They couldn't, but were insistent that this other product did exist. I explained that, as a customer, I cannot be expected to read barcodes, with which they agreed, and if they liked, I could phone HO then and there, and ask them to confirm if there are indeed two different but very similar products. CS lady told the other just to give me a refund, and they'd sort it out with the Manager later on. Result!0

identitymismatch wrote:once the Mail readers find out about Tesco's overpricing who knows what will happen? I'm sure they'll work out that it's down to asylum seekers working there or some such nonsense ;-)
Exactly, but aren't they all in Waitrose buying a few items to make themselves feel important!Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
identitymismatch wrote:Fab, this means you're less likely to be overcharged, chalk one up for MSE against Tesco!
No i i think it more than likely means that i'm not checking them properly as i can't really be bothered any more,i'm sure there are still plenty of mistakes in the shop:rolleyes:Darren0 -
I have called HO to complain about the way I was dealt with at the C/S desk today. I quite openly told the nice chap on the other end of the phone that I have on several occasions taken advantage of the policy they offer, but did not expect to be spoken to as if I was a criminal as I had done nothig wrong. He agreed and said will be contacting the store manager for me.0

Well done, I always feel like I'm doing something wrong when I go to CS for a refund.0

Good on you bootman! This is more about bad customer service, and shocking manners than the r&r policy. You have done all consumers a good service by pointing out his totally unacceptable behaviour. If the man cant be polite to customers he should be out the back stacking shelves not up front representing his employer!0 -

Saw the following misprices:
Tesco Finest Parmasan SEL 13.08/kg pack price 17.08/kg
Outdoor reared pork SEL 6.08/kg pack price 6.58/kg
Bought 4 of each and a few other items when to CS.
Followed girl to shelves where she took out the offencing SELs.
She spoke to another CS girl who then contacted the manager.
Manager refused refund. Told me I had to pay the price on the pack. After a heated discussion with
him, he offered one paramasan and one pack of pork as a good wil gesture. I refused
and told him I would be contacting HO in the morning.
Phoned HO 0800 505555 spoke with customer services manager seh took details contact the store manager and CSM Dundee phoned me back.
Manager deines there was a SEL for 13.08 at parmasan and is still only offering me
good will gesture on one pack of pork.
Where do I go from here, I have had no issue gettting refund in other stores.
Get in touch with HO again. You are right. He is either wrong or a liar!
The £13.08 large SEL was definitely in my store yesterday as I am sure it will be in many others tomorrow! The Pork is also as you stated!Keep SmilingSite member number 24
