  • Thanks Abijanzo and Martini. I know you are both right, and I should do it - just don't want them watching out for me every time I go in there in future!!! I might try ringing the manager in the morning. The problem now is that I don't have any proof, as they took the SELs down, but it is worth trying. One moment I think, learn from it, the next I get mad about it!!!

I suppose if I go in when my baby is due a feed, so is screaming his head off, I can threaten not to leave until they refund me!!!??!!!

    Thanks again

Whilst having a little browse at work (a bit naughty) I came across the daily mail chat boards. I think it is chat.dailymail.co.uk. In the Cafe section they are talking about Tesco refund policy. Some person asked for the address of the board listing the discounts because his wife works in the legal department of Tescos and apparently all these discounts are stressing out the staff. What is more annoying is somebody else posted the link to MSE, which really really annoyed me.

dont they know how to use google

I'm *glad* someone posted the link to MSE because:
    1. People might look at the rest of the site and learn how to save money. The might even buy Martin's book!
    2. If Tesco realises how people are wising up to the overpricing (intentional or not) and that Tesco is looking bad, maybe it'll start trying to address the problem.

Sorry if this means you'll start losing out on freebies and things to sell on Ebay, but wouldn't you like Tesco to just sort itself out??

Heh, once the Mail readers find out about Tesco's overpricing who knows what will happen? I'm sure they'll work out that it's down to asylum seekers working there or some such nonsense ;-)
  • Can anyone in the Manchester area let me know where I can pick up one of these dino watches. I've tried prestwich, bury and haslingden and cannot find the darned things anywhere. And know the g/fs son will love one (and put me in his good books too)
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I've virtually given up now on looking for mis-prices as it seems my local store are always on the ball these days:(
Oh well just have to keep doing the 150 clubcard points

Fab, this means you're less likely to be overcharged, chalk one up for MSE against Tesco!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've just been made to feel a real criminal in my local Tesco. Picked up the last 3 organic chickens. All mispriced. Big yellow SEL saying lower price per kg.

First the old man tried to argue that these were not the correct chickens. Then he went off with a girl who has served me before for refund and came back shouting that I was very well known to the store for doing this was'nt I.

He then said what did I want. I said well as per your policy please refund and keep.

He said don't you ever make mistakes. Your not being very fair blah blah blah....

I left almost in tears. Yes I have had 3 refunds this month, does that make me a criminal?

Should I ring someone to complain about him, he was so rude to me.

  • Was in tesco last night.

    Saw the following misprices:

Tesco Finest Parmasan SEL 13.08/kg pack price 17.08/kg
Outdoor reared pork SEL 6.08/kg pack price 6.58/kg

Bought 4 of each and a few other items when to CS.

Followed girl to shelves where she took out the offencing SELs.
She spoke to another CS girl who then contacted the manager.

Manager refused refund. Told me I had to pay the price on the pack. After a heated discussion with
him, he offered one paramasan and one pack of pork as a good wil gesture. I refused
and told him I would be contacting HO in the morning.

Phoned HO 0800 505555 spoke with customer services manager seh took details contact the store manager and CSM Dundee phoned me back.

Manager deines there was a SEL for 13.08 at parmasan and is still only offering me
good will gesture on one pack of pork.

Where do I go from here, I have had no issue gettting refund in other stores.
