Yes, stores have one national price for an item, so you will always find some consistency there at least, although metros and express stores will have some slightly more expensive prices for products, they are still consistent throughout those stores too.
Basically, the easy way to look at it is this:
Start off by checking the misprice thread, so you get a specific idea of what your looking for to start.
EG last week "Mercenaries" on Playstation 2 format was scanning as £19.99 at the til. However there was a big old sticker on it which said £13.98. So because you KNOW the scan is for the highter price, you know you're going to be overcharged.
You always have to check with the scanner really, because you never know whether the item will scan correctly or not. Tesco have some candles priced 97p, SEL 96p, but they SCAN at 96p so no overcharge.
Nothing is ever guaranteed! Check the misprices thread often to see what other people have found recently, and remember, misprices are often corrected weekly (sunday PM) so they often don't cross weeks. Best time to get hunting is a monday when after the price update for new offers. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
My local store is Thornton Heath and they have a scanner, so I should be able to find something.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Queried 'no discount' at CS Monday;was told 'lots of people have made the same mistake'. Excuse me? CS agreed sign said '2 melons for £2', but intended '2 of same variety'. If it had said so, I would have complied. Not a 'mistake' then? CS lady, as usual, mulish. Said I would speak with HO. Promotion over by Monday and HO computers down all day, but this morning had excellent help from HO David, Dundee, who promises £3 moneycard by post. How did you manage it? When I tried there was a load of prompts which came up on the screen, which the checkout girl didn't understand so then got someone else to show her which then took the £20 off RAAAAAAaa. I did try telling her just to put no when it asked was the spend over £40.0 -
Does anyone have a list of all the recent mis-prices.I am going shopping tomorrow and would like a few bargains!
Thanks0 -

Bought a joint of lamb with Rosemary. The price on the product was £4.99 but the SEL (or the cardboardy pricey thingie as I innocently told the customer service girl) read £3.99.
Bingo! £4.99 refunded to my card, joint of lamb handed back to me AND AN APOLOGY FOR THE OVERPRICE!
I shall be trotting back tomorrow to both Tesco stores in town. We like Lamb!
And, to top it off, also found a 22-point discarded receipt which I asked her to credit my clubcard account with after she'd done the refund.
And I got a till spit for 30 points when I buy Cravendale (which I buy anyway).
PS - I wasn't in Tesco with a woman called Rosemary as the wording of this post may imply!April 2006 - £9790.26dr. DFD - March 20110 -
Just wondered, wat's the best way to claim a misprice?
Do you pay, then walk up to CS stating you've been overcharged, or simply state this at the till/before paying (that the price is wrong)?
Also, do you guys take the SEL (as proof); I suspect if they wanted to, when you dispute the price, and they trot off to o check the SEL, they could simply say there is no SEL (sneekily removing it as you're not there with them), hence the wring price (you paid) was correct.
Wanted to get it right in my head, before I do actually build up the guts to try!0
