You'll all be pleased to see that Tescos have been nabbed by TS: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cornwall/4464430.stm
Yes, reporting this sort of thing to TS does work. I know the fine's a pittance, but if they get more bad publicity (not all publicity's good!) maybe they'll actually have to do something about it...
Keep reporting Tesco to TS, people!0 -

I love the way that they always blame their staff for getting it wrong.
"and re-briefed staff to make sure this doesn't happen again"
Little Joe Bloggs on the shop floor just does what he is told. Manager says "put this sign up", Joe Bloggs does it. They don't get paid to think about what they are told to do, they are just supposed to do it and thats the way Tesco and all supermarkets want it!

Nice new tesco extra opening in Faraday retail park on 28th November (Coatbridge North Lanarkshire). Good hunting ground for misprices, or do you think nice shiny new store will get it all right? Will be going anyway just for a look see.The victims we know so well
They shine in your eyes
When they kiss and tell
Strange places we never see

well good luck Richard, from my experience Thornton Heath has officially the most disinterested CS ever. You'll be lucky if you can get someone to even serve you, let alone give you a refund. And yes I tried complaining by email after my complaint slip was ignored (I expect they lost it) and Mr T never replied to my emails about the issue! I'm ashamed to say I gave up in the end - just didn't have the time or patience.
Let me know if you do manage R&R there though - I could be persuaded back for the right rewards!

Went to local Extra store today, bought two books (Dora Adventure Songs and Thomas Tank), overcharged on both, and the expanding file thingy (overcharged on that too). (Got r&r on all these no problem).
Also bought 3 DVDs - West Wing 5, Smallville 3 (both SEL £39.96, charged £39.97) and War of the Worlds (SEL on one display stand £12.76, on another display stand and shelf £14.somthing, charged £14.something).
CS lady - very pleasant went to check the DVD prices - came back with a manager who said he would refund me on one, but charge me for the others.
At the time, I was feeling a little unwell, and wondering if I had been extracting the michael rather a bit by trying to get everything all at once (or is that just plain greedy??!!)... so I agreed.
Now I am wondering whether I have done the right thing, or not??
Have spoken to HO, who have advised (as I know) that I should have had refund on all DVDs. Not sure what to do now - contact the store and demand they pay up, or put it down to experience and just take them back for a refund (and not be so greedy next time!!)
Am concerned if I go back for full refund, they may remember me in future, and I might get banned. But I am annoyed (at the manager and at myself) for only getting a refund on the one DVD.
What would you do? Any help/advice appreciated (and I can take any criticism, have broad shoulders!!?!!)

Whilst having a little browse at work (a bit naughty) I came across the daily mail chat boards. I think it is chat.dailymail.co.uk. In the Cafe section they are talking about Tesco refund policy. Some person asked for the address of the board listing the discounts because his wife works in the legal department of Tescos and apparently all these discounts are stressing out the staff. What is more annoying is somebody else posted the link to MSE, which really really annoyed me.No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

Thanks
Hello Bella,
Well personally I would go back to the store and ask to speak to the manager...say that having contacted head office you are now aware that you should have recieved a full refund on ALL of the items and got to keep them ALL too. Say that head office were very interested to know what had happened and have asked you to let them know how you get on at the store. I'm sure the manager will back down once you mention youve had a word with HO.
You may feel that you were being cheeky attempting so many r&r's in one go, but the facts are they overcharged you and have to abide by Head Offices policy - simple as that.
I know it can feel like a major confrontation and that's the last thing you want when you dont feel so good!
I wouldnt worry about being banned either...banned for what exactly? Being overcharged?
It's really up to you, but whatever you decide to do - dont be intimidated by a manager trying to wriggle out of r&r so he doesnt get a slap on the wrist for getting his prices wrong in the first place.
Let us know what you decide - all the best0 -
Bella,
Go back.
You were overcharged. It's as simple as that.
The manager had no right to do that! He is an idiot!
Once you have put them right on CS you will feel better. You have been wronged!
If they get their prices right you cannot be overcharged.
Spender,
Don't worry too much.
If I can buy a CD on Monday evening and report it, and it is still being refunded at other stores at the end of the week, we don't have much to worry about! The "wheels" turn very slowly at Tesco.Keep SmilingSite member number 24
