Tesco misprice policy discussion area

I went to Bursledon Tesco's at the weekend to buy a laptop, they had a laptop in the display case marked up at £568. I asked the assistant to get me one as they were all hidden away. She discovered that it was a £699 laptop but had the wrong SEL displayed in the cabinet. So I tried to get her on mis-price but she was not having any of it. I spoke to the manager and he said that as they had spotted the mistake before I had paid for it I had no case.
Still it was worth a try...0 -
Hi
Ive been trying to get my head around tesco's pricing especially the cd/dvd section. Please someone correct me if im wrong on my "philosophy" of tesco pricing:
All their prices appear to be ending in 7 especially cd/dvd section. For example £7.97, £10.87, £14.77 etc. Anyone see a pattern emerging? So let say we see a SEL not ending in 7 we can presume it's wrong, especially again cd/dvd section?
Anybody thinking what im thinking? or am I thinking too much about tesco prices?0 -
First time ever today that Tesco's asked for my Clubcard back (stoopidly I'd used it when buying my organic chickens) and they then said after swiping it, is your address ..........?
I know that other people have had their name and address taken - has anyone ever had any correspondence or any problems as a result? Does this mean I'm marked down as a 'troublemaker' now?I :heart2: Boots

I have been reading this thread) well, the later postings anyway, as it's soo long!!) and I tried it the other day. I took 2 cheeses( the 3 for £3 ones) to checkout, and they came up the same price as was shown on the pack.
What did I do wrong?
I'm not quite sure what SEL means? Does it mean that if something is priced differently on the shelf to the packet, you are entitiled to get a refund and the item free if the shelf price was lower?
There are some great bargains here.. so I'd love to get it right and grab some goodies for my depleted freezer!
Thank you0 -

I have been asked for my name and address, but you DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE IT. The person on the cs desk asked and I said I'd rather not and she said ' you have to' and so I asked her to call a manager and check, as legaly you are not required to give your details for a refund. She called and the manager said it was fine, it was company policy to ask if the refund was over £10 but if the customer didn't want to give their details it was fine.
Hope this helps for next time!0 -

And it does state this at CS.
Not sure if this is where I should post this but.......the cd in question (new Kate Bush ) was still in its original seal. How can they argue copyright when the cd had clearly never been opened?? :mad:January Debt reduced by £765: :j and overdraft improved by £400.65 :j

In my current store in Chelmsford only 2 cheeses mispriced: Double Glouster & another one?: SEL - £1.19 and scans £1.24. Rest are correct.
Check the cheese & shelf labels for mis-matches.
