smartie1976 wrote:Well that's a load of rubbish! the manager is only supposed to be required to authorise over a certain amount (unsure think it's £10(, but I had £90 DVD refunded a couple of weeks ago without a manager, so I think it's just the quirks of each store.
Each store has its own policy with regards to the frequency/amount of overcharges checked by managers.
There are company guidelines, which is actually every refund over a (low) set amount MUST be reviewed and logged - but if a store is doing abnormal amounts of refunds and they have been pulled on it, managers have done, and will do, to request to see all refunds, particulary around overcharges.
Particular goods returned must also be inspected and signed off by a duty manager/store manager (depends on size/format of store) before being returned.
But, as I say, not all stores are the same - I know we have had periods previously where ALL refunds were referred to a manager, regardless of the amount (but not nessecessarililyiyliliy at the time of refund, mind).Yes, I work for Mr T, but anything I say is not given as an official response or representation from Mr T, and is usually best taken with a pinch of salt, lightly toasted and served with a chardonnay or rose wine. All the scanners were either not working or referring you to a member of staff. I wondered if this is their way of limiting the R&R's. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I got a refund for being undercharged yesterday! :T
I had a points coupon to get 20 points when spending 70p or more on bread so I bought bread rolls at 32p + 45p,
but the lad on till put them through at 2 x 32p so at the end the coupon wouldn't take and he advised me to go to customer services.
I wanted the points (80p in deals) and thought it was worth spending an extra 13p to get them, so I trotted off to cs and explained, the lady said to me that I would still not be able to get the points on this occassion as she was giving me a full refund for the bread so I got my 64p back, and I can use the coupon next time. :j0 -

2 more ballerina books today last two there, 1 fairy book left but no sticker.
looked round the cd's and dvd's but nothing there - that i could see anyway - slightly distracted by my two kids tho today and shelf stacker seemed to be everywhere i was (im i being paranoid now lol)
last time i bought backery bread big yellow sign saying by 2 for £1.50 (89p each) so got another two loaves today and tried to claim for them both but they said it wasnt the correct product i had purchased. (slightly peeved as the bread i bought was the only brad behind the sign on both occassions)
I also got my refund on the heat rub they had over charged me for last time (i phoned tesco helpline about that as i couldnt get back in) and they said as it had ben more than 7 days they couldnt do anything about it. I pointed out i had phoned and said on the phone there was no time limit to getting it refunded, so after speaking to someone else they refunded that too.
Hey Ho
Better luck next time!0 -
Joel wrote:As for the job - I was told I could be hearing the results today, but I haven't heard anything, so its either bad news, or they haven't made their mind up yet. I went back for a second interview yesterday, and I suspect I'll either be receiving a (dreaded) letter in the next few days, or perhaps, possibly, maybe, a late phone call brining good news. Fingers crossed I suppose, the suspense is killing me!:D
Hi, Joel any news? and how about this as an alternative to ampersands haka for all your irate customers. Done straw hat bells and a stick and do the Floral Dance, or to be really different dress as a Bacup Coconutter, which is not very PC but will certinaly render them speachless .0 -
Got my first r&r yesterday @ Chelmsford:
double gloucester cheese pack £1.24, sel 1.19.
cs girl says i had one of these few days ago, lol.
Went back today and picked up another 5 packs, no problem at cs (no name/address or manager required).
Also no CD/DVD/game mis-prices i could find.
Thanks Mr. T0 -
last week i managed to get a misspriced mobile, to cut a long story short store manager and head office cust service both said it was a till error rather than an overcharge (stupid i know!!)
i then wrote to the chief exec on tues and rec'd a very prompt telephone call on thurs from a lady at the chief exec office, she said that i had indeed been overcharged and if i called into chorley store they would refund the £169.99, woo hoo!! i then asked her whether this was being done to pacify me, or whether it was infact an overcharge, and she said 'of course it was an overcharge'. she assured me that they have now corrected the till problem nationally - sorry!
went to chorley to collect my £££'s and the cs girl said that there had been a lot of discussion about me that day, and that she couldn`t beleive h.o had been so lenient with me!!!! oh and congratulated me!!! she must have seen my angry expression because she suddenly became very nice, even offering me a guarantee leaflet for my new free phone. i then asked her for my 200 free points i should have rec'd on a narnia dvd, and she was very obliging.
narnia dvd was only bought for the free points ,so i returned it the day later to horwich - Witch on cs wouldn`t refund the dvd as it wasn`t tesco policy so i walked to the electrical desk and got it refunded there!! 1-0 to me.
went to blackpool today and on the way home i fancied a misprice so i got sopranos series 4, sel £39.96, stickered £39.97, charged £39.97. cs not too impressed with the 1p difference and removed all sel's and also told me ''this cannot be returned under any circumstances!'' we'll see! thanks to everyone who helped me sort the mobile out. :A
i work for a building society and a regular customer works on tesco cs, she was saying that some saddo had been round getting a load of cheese , just cos it was overpriced - i feigned ignorance and asked why someone would do that, and she explained that they get it for free!! my colleague, who knows what i get up to had to go in the back to laugh :rotfl:Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!0 -
