Hello parley. Yes it is stated in there policy that if things dont add up then you get a full refund on your product and you also get to keep the product!

  • I had a box of stella that I paid 14.59 for, went for my r & r, she went to check the price come back and said I was wrong the lower price was for 10 cans not 20. I went and checked myself and the label had gone. Either i'm going mad or she had removed it.

  • Hi, I'm new to this site, and this is my first post.

I would like to ask if anyone else has noticed that Tesco's are getting firmer with their r+r policy. I did my weekly shop last night, and thought that I would get 2 CDs(Charlotte Church, scans £9.97, sel £8.97, and Leonard Skynnrd, scans £10.97, sticker £9.97), their finest bacon (pack £2.48, sel £2.06), and double gloucester cheese (pack £1.24, sel 1.19, part of the 3 for £3 offer) for free under the r+r policy. After a half hour wait at CS, the assistant finally came back, and said that I could have the CDs, as their was a genuine mistake, but not the bacon or the cheese. The sel for the bacon says 250g, not the weight of the pack (300g), but it is obviously a mistake on the sel, as I was refunded for this same bacon last week. They don't sell that particular bacon in a 250g pack, and from reading this forum I know other people have had similar queries. As for the cheese, I got some story about it being different cheese to the sel, etc.. Again I have had refunds on this before. The assistant, who was v pleasant, said she had taken a long time because she had had to find a manager to approve the refunds, the first time this has happened to me - I have had numerous refunds before without a manager approving them. I decided not to argue too much as I had frozen food defrosting in my trolley. Is this first signs of Tesco getting firmer or did I just get a Manager who was trying it on? Or are they just getting fed up of me? I'd appreciate your views.

I find that it depends upon the member of CS you get to see, and it varies from store to store.
Some CS staff still can't understand when the SEL gives a lower price per Kg - they try working out the price on the product and multiplying it by the weight. Of course THAT'S correct, I say. It's the actual price per kilo that it's based on which is in error (perhaps we ought to get some badges made up?)

With my run-in this week over a console game, the bottom line is, as long as you have been overcharged, and if the outcome isn't a full refund, then contact Tesco Head Office - they will contact the store to ensure that R&R is followed.

Thought this might be useful for those tricky CS moments -

I had exact same problem in Edinburgh earlier this week, CS guy had my sirloin steaks , and he worked out the cost to show me I wasn't overcharged. Oh, i agreed with him that the price on the packet was correct based on the cost / kg and weight of steak, but explained that the SEL was lower per kilo. He couldn't understand what I was meaning, until a very pleasant young lady came over and told him it was an overcharge, and to refund me.

He then asked me if I had left any on the shelf , said he was gonna go get some for himself and get them free!!!!!!

Anyway, rant over. It's been a bad day, can you tell? :wall: :([/QUOTE]

Hello Joel - hope today is better - any news on job front yet.

I've just posted the maori haka on this thread for use under extreme CS duress.
Think I'd better dedicate it to you, too.
    Kind regards.
