sandybrag wrote:This is absolute rubbish. The policy states "If things dont add up.. you can have a refund and keep the product". Did things add up in this instance?. No they bloody well did not. You were overcharged so you are entitled to keep the goods and get a refund as per policy- its as simple as that. Tescos overcharged you. End of argument. No ifs, and no buts.
Insist on this again with them, and if they still refuse to give you a refund, say youll be speaking to trading standards regarding the misleading wording on their policy. Keep all receipts, and records of conversations.
I think this is outrageous and laughable. Tesco do not have a leg to stand on.
rang cs at head office today and they echoed what the store had said and said there was nothing else i could do, i asked who the highest person to write to was and they said the chief exec, so i have sent a recorded delivery letter to him today. letting them know that they are clearly breaching their price promise and that i ill inform trading standards if a suitable resolution isn`t made, fingers crossed. i will take this all the way if i have to, they are making rules up to suit them.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!0 -
Got my refund tonight for cd's from wokingham store they said they would only refund the difference but I explained the tesco policy and they said that didn't apply here as its now on a store by store basis (what rubbish!!).
I got them to escalate this to the manager who agreed to give a full refund. Noticed they have taken down the pricing policy poster from customer service in wokingham. What are they like!!
Took my laptop back to store in bracknell and got a full refund as I don't want it. But price is listed as £568 but scans at £528. Shame its not the other way roundLooking to raise some money0 -
Tried 2 return a game bought the day before at 3 different Tescos stores who said it was now their policy not to refund on games, dvds or cds unless faulty. They would exchange for other similar items.0

Hi guys,
I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE PEOPLE !!!
DO NOT, DO NOT, "WASTE" YOUR TIME WITH THE CURRENT MOBILE PHONE OFFER !
UNLESS YOU HAVE THE TIME AND PATIENCE AND DETERMINATION, TO PURSUE THIS INVOLVING TRADING STANDARDS ETC
It’s interesting who you “meet”, through these boards !
Och aye the noo ...
Allegedly they are going to do EVERYTHING they can to get out of this one. They being CS Head Office. if you phone Head Office, they are going to do their level best to get out of it. They are going to make every excuse, and pull every fast one, quote every bamboozling, conduzuling, frazlooziling excuse you (they ?) can think of. that an order. laddie
"affecting condescening maggie thatcher/patricia hewitt/nulabor condescending female politician voice - no you have not been overcharged, you were simply charged more, it is very is a different you see ... no you misunderstand, obviosly you paid more than you were supposed to, but that means you overpaid, not we overcharged ... "
THIS IS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE CLEARLY OVERCHARGED. INESCABABLY. SOMEONE WITH THE TIME, KNOWLEDGE AND EFFORT, COULD NAIL THEM ON THIS ONE.
I was dubious when ben500 first suggested that allegedly Tescos had a corporate cultchure of overcharging, that staff did it with a nod and a wink, and turned a blind eye. I really didn't think that this could be happening, allegedly. But from what I have seen ...
In just a little time interacting with the interesting people on this site, I my opinions have been adjusted.
I say best off to leave it, as you will only be remembered as by the instore CS as "trouble". as somebody else said, when they get the opportunity they are going to teach them a lesson for the last six years ... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
So unless you are prepared to waste a lot of time on the phone situation, or preferably have the legal knowledge and know how to nail them on this, leave it, or take it back for a full refund, which you are entitled to ...
Somebody could actually do them on this one. "no you have not been overcharged, you were simply charged more, it is very is a different you see ... '
You take the high road, and I'll take the low road, and I'll be in Scotland before ye .... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Yes it is illegal. Go back tomorrow and talk to a CS who actually has a clue about her job!
TRADING STANDARDS - Breach of Consumer Protection Act 1987 S20 S21.
Q1. I was charged a different price for an item at the till to the one that was shown on the shelf, what are my rights?
The Consumer Protection Act 1987 makes it an offence for a trader to give a consumer misleading price indications. In the first instance speak to the trader about the differing prices, if you are not satisfied with the response, contact your local authority trading standards department who enforce the Act and who could bring a prosecution against the trader (quote nicked from DD on previous pages...)0 -
By the way you need to get this sorted so you can get some sleep........2am in the morning doing posts!!!! ..is there such a time??!!0

I can feel a massive tescos !!!!!! kicking coming on.
Should we got mob-handed and hit this store for R & R?It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Bought PS2 Mercenaries game at my local Tescos and the Sugarbabes C.D. Both scanned incorrectly so my first freebies from Tescos feel like a legal shoplifter! Bit scary if you ask me hopefully with a bit more practice I wont worry so much!
