i will go change the cd's now then!!!
the sel didn't have lower price on, but i have a feeling that somewhere else in the store they do have the lower sel's. what if they don`t, should i just get it refunded and call it quits?

personally i would use the excuse that an overcharge is an overcharge, see the manager, dont give up without a fight!!!0 -
parsnips wrote:if the sel for the mobile has the discounted price on, then yes, i got my mobile refunded, they refused at first only offering me the difference, but then i said the sel had the discounted price advertised on it so i got a full refund.
and yes i always exchange my overcharged cds and i always show my receipt, even with overcharge written on it, like ho told me, its not your fault you got overcharged.
hope that helps
If the sel does not show the discount of the mobile could you get the r+r with the leaflet? It says the price of them after the £20 is taken off. I have the leaflet in front of me but i don't know how to put a picture on otherwise i would show you all.The best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. It costs nothing and means so much.0 -

not sure, like i said, they werent going to refund the full amount until i explained it was advertised on the sel, they used the excuse it was a human error.0 -

i have just been to my local tesco, who wouldn`t exchange the cd's beacause they weren't in cellophane (they weren`t supplied in celophane). Hubby asked the Manager on duty to put it in writing that she would not exchange and why, she was about to do it when my hubby asked for the manager on call (we know someone who works for tesco and he advised us to always ask for the manager on call, which is apparantly different to the manager on duty) manager on call allowed us the refund, which we accepted very smugly!! whilst in store we checked the sel on mobiles, and it was the lower price, so i'm guessing that is the case in the store where i bought the mobile, will check tommorow and with take my camera!!!!! thanks for the advice, will keep you posted :ALead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!0 -

Probably just an old label for it that hasn't been changed.
So *fnaaar*, no R&R refundlol
Went to a different tesco store today (not Extra) to try and get the dance party cd. It was priced at £10.97 there too. If it is priced differently (I have seen posts about an SEL of £8.97, charged £9.97 on here) elsewhere then I am really really annoyed!!
Store was heaving and had 3 yr old and baby with me, so got very stressed and couldn't find any r&rs, plus the in-store scanner wasn't working (which I found out after loading basket with cds/dvds...!!!
To top it all, lost a baby toy whilst in there which had only just bought a few days earlier... so my freebie shop ended up costing me!!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0024 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -

Through the till and the discount didn't come off so I went to CS and told them and just casually said "you know, if I was in Tescos they'd give me a refund and I'd get to keep the product". CS lady checked that the discount wasn't coming off as I'd said, then handed me the pastries and proceded to give me a full refund as well.
So it seems they can do it too if they want to...and if you don't ask, you don't get :rotfl:
I have mentioned this every time I have taken something back to Sainsbury's when I have been overcharged... they just ignore me!! I obviously don't have your charm!! But I will keep trying (for the charm and the refund!!)AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0024 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
I was in TESCO EXTRA/IRVINE 2nite, and noticed that on the bottom of the battery section they were selling Energizer compact chargers (4xAA @1300mAh + charger) on a discontinued ticket for £6.97 now i bought one of these a couple of months ago and decided to get another one. Now there were 3 left one had a bashed box so i lifted another one and i noticed that it was 1700mAh instead of of the 1300, blatently knowing it was in the wrong place i decided to go for it them comlpain, scanned at £15.97 so off to CC, girl left and came back in 10mins saying that it's the wrong type on the shelf and that it's only the 1300 . Pleading my ignorance i told her i didn't know the difference, she told me she didn't know either, so asked if i could get the product at cheaper price, was told NO because it says on label that it's the 1300 that's discontinued (not my problem surley) in the end told her i didn't want the 15.97 so gave me the diference back and i took the 6.97 instead.
I don't normally haggle/complain (get to flusttered and don't know what to say) but felt quite proud of myself for doing it, so felt really deflated on the way home after a non result.
What should i have done differentely? and was i in the right to the higher priced item?0 -

TRADING STANDARDS - Breach of Consumer Protection Act 1987 S20 S21.
Q1. I was charged a different price for an item at the till to the one that was shown on the shelf, what are my rights?
The Consumer Protection Act 1987 makes it an offence for a trader to give a consumer misleading price indications. In the first instance speak to the trader about the differing prices, if you are not satisfied with the response, contact your local authority trading standards department who enforce the Act and who could bring a prosecution against the trader (quote nicked from DD on previous pages...)It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Help needed feeling very abused by TESCO manager and being charged more than the shelf price. please read below and tell me what you think? this letter is going out on for them tonight or on Monday morning....
Overcharge was £2.99 p/kilo shelf price was £2.53 p/kilo
Dear Sir/madam,
I am compelled to write this letter of complaint to you. I was overcharged, the attitude of customer services was dismal to say the least.
1st the CS Staff attempted to bamboozle me with basic Maths, then when I disagreed and pointed out the price per kilo they raised there voice with me and when I reminded them of the ‘Tesco Price promise’ I was abandoned by the staff member who walked off, 15 minutes later, I was approached by the duty manager and told that this member of staff has had ‘DEALINGS’ with me before ( I’m not absolutely sure what he was attempting to refer to) despite the fact that I had not had any communication with her before this time.
The duty manager then went to check the price himself and came back and agreed that I had been overcharged, but said he would only refund me the price and that he would keep the goods, or I can leave, he told me that the higher price was right and that the LARGE SPECIAL PRICE which was lower did not apply whilst he held/hid this behind his back which I pointed out to him, he then went off and said he would be back in a minute… half an hour later after I had him paged, he approached me very perplexed and said ‘you still here’ he did not explain why he had said 1 minute and how this had turned to half an hour… I reminded him of the ‘Tesco Price promise’ he said that this does not matter and that he is disregarding it voices were slightly raised by this time, he told me I was embarrassing myself in front of my child, probably due to the fact that I was complaining about been overcharged, he then threatened to call the police on me to remove me from the store if I did not leave or accept his offer, I was then approached by two security guards who asked me to leave??? and told me that the Duty Manager had told me to leave and that I can only leave with the goods or take my money back and leave, despite the very large and clear ‘Tesco Price promise’ behind me, what make this kind of hilarious is that the person in front of me had been refunded back 3p and staff did not mention the policy to them is it now the policy that staff do not follow TESCO policy and managers can make there own despite the national policy being very clear and a refund was requested.
I was told by this manager to contact you, I have only used Customer Services in this store 4 times and I am very unhappy about the level of service and customer care as it appears non existent and leaves me feeling very disgruntled. Is this anyway to treat a customer who has shopped with you for over 25 years!!! Please find attached the receipt and picture of the correct price per kilo. This is clearly a Breach of the Consumer Protection Act 1987 S20 S21.
I shall be forwarding a copy of this letter and a written statement to my trading standards officer if I do not hear from you within 7 days, if you are unable to open the attachments ( the receipt, the shelf price, mp4 video) to my letter you are welcome to see them on my website. https://www.***.com0
