  • This website is dedicated to saving money! I don't think we should be passing moral judgements on people. They haven't broken the law! And by running the gauntlet of cs staff, I think they have put quite a bit of effort in :D

Yes, but you also know that it was made with effort and hard work.

Whereas a overcharged CD given to someone for christmas, and they could be thinking "Oh gawd, someones gone to the trouble of spending their hard earned money to get me a gift"

    And they didn't.

I'm not saying its a problem for me, but look at it from the flipside :p

They shouldn't be thinking anything besides THANKS somebody loves me and has gone to the effort of getting me a present no matter what the costs!!!!!!!!

  • Hi, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of something I could print out that has the complete refund replace policy on it and am I right in thinking that Tesco do a petrol match? If they do I could do with that too, thank you in advance, you are all such a nice bunch!

The petrol price match policy can be found here. You won't need to print out the overcharge policy (although it is on their website) because there is a sign up at the Customer Service Desk in all Tescos that clearly states it for all to see :)

Not being one to contradict any of the worthy contributors on this thread but i have searched in vain for any sight of such a sign in my local Tescos. They are aware of the policy (or at least they are when you point it out)but certainly dont have it displayed anywhere obvious which means most customers are probably unaware of it.

Also on smaller signs around store and checkouts, when I say small writing I mean small writing.
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

The poilcy is displayed on the wall behind the CS desk aswell as on the Tesco website.

    hths.
In my local extra it is not on the wall but on a couple of little plastic stands in front of the tills at CS.
  • Another question - so what are these scanners or self scanners that I keep seeing being mentioned here?

Say for example in the CD section there is a poster with a list of prices but yet the CD itself doesn't have a sticker on it, unless you are intending to buy it, is the only way to find out for certain if it’s overpriced is if you get an assistant to scan it for you?

there is athread all about scanner location... i'll do a quick search for it
    it's here
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I had an incident in Tesco's this morning.
Was doing part of my christmas shop and was overcharged for bacon.
I went to CS desk and was advised that it was the wrong SEL for item and then told I would be refunded the DIFFERENCE!
I objected to this and pointed out their R&R policy (which was next to me) but was told the most I would get was a refund of the difference.
Asked to speak to someone higher and they again said the same.
The only way they would refund was if I handed the items back!
Asked for Head Office telephone number and went and called them and guess what I was told to go back to CS desk and I would get a full refund.
The store apparently told Head Office that I had been offered this but had refused it???
I have never felt so awful, the way some of these staff treat you is despicable and now I will feel very self conscious next time I have to go to my local Tesco's

Absolutely do NOT let them do this to you - listen to all the outraged cries of 'outrageous!' from fellow msers.
Take your misprices straight up to CS with your usual(I'm sure)courtesy and refer to previous occasion, should clone of this experience appear top be shaping up OR if same people are present.
