Abijanzo - which store is this?
it must be one of the ones that doesn't employ a staff member to peel all the price stickers off! you seem to get a lot of misprices, you lucky soandso.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

That's one slack store, incredible !!! :j

Sounds like the only customers that won't be overcharged in that store are the '3 blind mice' !!! :D Although, if they do somehow notice it won't be the farmers wife that cuts off their tails, it'll be the CS rep !! :rotfl:
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

Overcharges are dealt with in two ways. Firstly, a refund is issued to the customer, and the 'product' (technically speaking) is returned to the bookstocks of the stock control system.

However, the 2nd part of the process then logs the product as 'waste' - therefore every overcharge is refunded, returned to bookstocks (in theory), then logged as known lost (waste, as opposed to unknown loss, which is shrink ;) ), which results in the product coming off bookstocks again, as the customer has kept it.

I'm not sure if that clears it up... I didnt quite understand the stuff you were saying in the post about accounts credit/debit etc. :D

Thanks for the information, interesting MR BOND as they say in the films.

So the accounting entries in basic terms are :

    part 1

Credit Bank/Cash (amount of Refund) £X
    Debit Stock £X

    part 2

    Credit Stock £X
Debit Stock Write-Offs (an account that should be used for unsaleable & damaged products, discontinued lines, etc) :naughty:

That's totally rubbish accounting ! I'd have Tescos over the hot coals if the entries are as you suggest (if I were the auditor and found this practice), it is to put it bluntly absolutely CR*P accounting practice. Which also incidentally if it proves in breach of accounting standards SSAPs and FRSs, can be considered illegal (under the financial acts). I know a finance director who was put on several weeks 'gardening leave' for 'inappropriate' movements into and out of stock / stock write-offs. :naughty:

Yep. However there is more than 1 slack store around here! I wont say where I am located though as this thread has Tesco spies now  I will keep posting the items on the cpjackson site and the misprice thread though as they can be checked nationwide.

I hope you dont mind but I dont really want to say where I am because as you say we have had LOTS of R&R's around here and I dont want to be put on the Tesco CS wall of fame!! Too many Tesco staff are starting to read this board :shhh:
I will post all my misprices on the misprice thread and cpjackson though so that others can try their luck....After all the prices will be the same in every store - it's just a matter of checking your local section out

The Antonio Carluccio book has been a nice little earner for us lately...we must have been overcharged on 10+ copies and exchanged them later! at £15 a shot that's not bad :)

How do you exchange them if the receipt is marked?

I dont take the receipt and that's never been a problem as long as I dont want a refund only an exchange. ;)

aren't you sort of well recognised as doing this frequently though? I would have thought that might set their alarm bells ringing
