Glad you feel happier!
You could still look into other accomodation options as many will have waiting lists anyway - never hurts to see what is out there for you, should you need it, imo.
Dunno about your nan nagging you - the lack of an internet connection would be torture for me!! Maybe I'm addicted...? :rotfl:
Hope things continue to improve for you. It's hard that your mum is staying put but ultimately that's her decision and you can only be there for her as you would anyway.
Good luck with everything.0 -
Hi Stokechick - glad you are safely at your nan's. This sounds like a good solution for the time being (even if she is nagging and there's no internet).
It may give you some space to think about what you want to do long term - job as well as living arrangements. Whatever you do you'll need some money as well as to get out of the house so it might be worth a trip to the jobcentre.
Good luck - you have been very brave and strong.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
Well done Stokechick for going to your Nan's. At least you will be safe there and have a chance to think about your next move without fear. Remember people who nag (irritating though it is) are usually people who care. I am guilty of nagging (they say!) my two sons. They would probably lay in bed all day doing nothing otherwise.
You have been very brave. Feel free to get it off your chest here anytime. We may not be able to help much but we will all listen.

Hi I tried to post earlier, i dunno what happened but Im back.
Im so pleased for you stokechick you have taken the first step, well done, don't look back and don't feel guilty, how other people act is not your fault. Im hoping your mum will see sense soon, however she has to decide to do it on her own.
There is lots of support out there for you, I know its hard to ask for it but it is worth it, the posters here have given some great advice. I don't know if you do feel that counselling will help you (your GP can refer you) I have found it helpful to talk to someone independent.0 -
Your nan is nagging you because she loves you. I'm guessing she's nagging you to a) get a job; b) help around the house; c) turn your music down; d) eat / sleep more ... (Can you tell I have a 16yo?)stokechick16 wrote: »but i am alot happier at my nans even though she keeps nagging me
The lack of an internet connection will not kill you. You can often get free internet connection at libraries and learning centres: £40 isn't going to go far in internet cafes.
But you really do need to focus on getting a job so that you can either move out of your nan's or start paying for your keep if you both decide that staying there is a good plan.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Sorry for not replying.
Thank you very much for the replies over the past week. Whether it was advice or writing something lovely, it really helped. There are some lovely people on MSE which is a good thing
.

Hello Stokechick
It's really good to hear that you are feeling happier and it just shows you've made the right decision. I can understand that your nan would expect some money if you are staying with her. Have you started to think about what you are going to do longer term - housing and job? I'm sure Connexions have been helpful with all of this and maybe can offer other advice too. Are you entitled to any benefits if you are not working?
Managing on your own would be a challenge but not impossible, especially if you have friends or family members who could support you emotionally. You are having to grow up very quickly which probably doesn't feel very fair. The positive side is that you will gain a lot by learning to be independent.
There are lots of kind people on MSE who will 'listen' and encourage. And we know you don't have the internet at home so no-one expects you to respond quickly.
