ETA: how on earth did you manage to swallow battery acid.......;)old enough to know better, young enough not to care;)0 -
Oh I'm not sure I did now...
I went to check the batteries in the doorbell and one had corroded everywhere so I brushed it out and put a new one in... then I grabbed a piece of chocolate without washing my hands  and thought it tasted spicy. Turns out to be chilli chocolate! :rotfl:
Well Applicant 4 never showed - he'll never know what he's missed out on! But 1 and 2 are both very keen, so I'll have a chat with NiceSoFarLodger and sleep on itDon't forget that 3 and 5 are still waiting in the wings...

6month lodger is better than 7week lodger, but 7weeks gives us the drama all over again
I'm a little sad they wernt all weirdos.0 -
Hey I've never intentionally let a room to a weirdo, and yet...
I'm really tempted by QuackersLodger. She reminds me of me when I was her age! Really bubbly and cute and quirky... she could be great entertainment for me if not for you lot
I'm 80% decided at this moment in time... but feel bad for Applicant 2, who's apparently spent 2 months looking for a home and this is the first one he's liked...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

ETA: you could always have cute quirky lodger now but let nice Scottish lodger know that the room may be available in a couple of months....

How about you let to both of them, offering QuackersLodger a space in your bed(room) :rotfl:
I'm sooo glad this thread is on the go again, it makes very entertaining reading“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Wow you have a home gym. This is the best deal I've ever heard of for 300 quid. Is there a reason I've never been to newport? (I am welsh so not dissing wales). Or maybe I've just been in London too long to know what rent is in normal places.MFi3 member 105 - MFW date Oct 2023 - 12 years 9 months more0 -
Newport is an exceptionally cheap place to live - houses have always been cheap to buy compared to England and you can still have a £1 pint of ale in the local
In fact, curry and a pint is £2.95 in the bar on my road, and the local nightclubs run a "£5 to get in and drink for free all night".
Well QuackersLodger has whooped for joy that I've now offered her the room - just a matter of signing the paperwork and getting her in hereMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Wow - so B_L has a new lodger. I hope you'll all be very happy and that the duck gets on with the chickens!!
Hope that Scottish Not Lodger wasn't too sad when you broke the news to him?0
