oh Badger Lady !! - Just saw this pop up in my subscribed threads and thought "uh oh!"
Can you enforce a "no music in room" policy?? and all music noise to be done in basement?
Lodger 3 has really lost his appeal there with the puking and alcoholism!!

Was only wondering the other day how things were in Badgerland.....:D
Not that I was wishing problems on you:o - was hoping all was good:A . Sorry to hear that you and bf didn't work out, although you seem to have a new admirer already:p .
Shame they can't keep their music to the basement really - install a 'no loud music zone' upstairs after ten on weekdays......- say the neighbours have complained.....
Or maybe you could buy them both a pair of wireless headphones for Christmas - see if they get the hint:rotfl:
I do think it's a bit unfair of them to put you in this position though - would have thought lodger2 would be a bit more considerate but he seems to have moved into the 'noisy lodger' role......
Whatcha gonna do.......
essexgal
ETA: see - that's two of us that think maybe 'music restrictions' are in order....:T Tell 'em Jamtart and Essexgal told you to do it.....:D;)old enough to know better, young enough not to care;)0 -

Oh, bless him. But not! I really hit it off with one of his mates at the moving in party - Cuteguy1 finished the night asking questions about me, said he liked me, and took me out for coffee the following morning (insisted on paying etc, very gentlemanly). Last weekend was the second time we'd met and I intended to pay him special attention... but constant "keep away from her, she's mine!" from Lodger3 (the guy I will never sleep with), and Cuteguy spent all night avoiding me!!! :mad:install a 'no loud music zone' upstairs after ten on weekdays......- say the neighbours have complained.....
Yer - I kinda thought we had one already, but it was unspoken... Lodger2 loves his music during the day, but always used to turn it down intuitively at 10pm. Maybe it needs reinforcing... I was looking at the Logitech Squeezebox - wireless media streaming to other rooms in the house. If I invested £150 in one for Christmas, it should be easy for Lodger2 to play his favourite music in the basement - his biggest problem is that he loves to play stuff "live" but can't be hassled with moving his MAC downstairs...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

I suspect Lodger 3 is having a bad effect on L2.

But wasn't there a problem with the house next door being able to hear noise from the basement due to some weird construction issues? Wouldn't it be better to just have a rule stating no music after xpm unless it's on headphones?0

Not as far as I'm aware - they've always been fine with the basement. Even with the stereo on top volume, nothing can be heard from outside the house (front or back), and no-one needs top volume except for special occasions.
I think PasturesNew had issues with sound travellingMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
