    Awww badger. Missed you!

It sounds like they are too matey - and they're being lads together and now trying to "out lad" each other. Whether this is an Alpha Male effect or not, I don't know. But it could be that the whole music playing etc is partly some Alpha Male trait.

    DEY FANCEYZ U INIT!

You need to stop being so hot if you want to stop this trail of men throwing themselves at you. Do you want me to give you some tips? I'm the world's most successful spinster. Really, I could do world tours :)

Maybe now's the time to think about how you could get yourself an en suite bathroom.

    Good luck :)

Ha-ha! :rotfl: Thanks Pastures, you know how to make me giggle!

I was supposed to be converting the outhouse into a downstairs shower room, but then the credit crunch happened to I turned it into a chicken coop instead... And I can't live with girls, there might be exceptions but the ones who come to look round are all wrong!

I agree girls are more hassle than they are worth. I would have a word about the puking in the communal bath - gross!!

I suffer from serious alcohol intolerance (hangovers) but I'd never puke in the bath. I think I Know what you mean about girls being a PITA I think though.

I'd get rid of mr puke though.

Just make sure that you kick them all out in time for the Ryder Cup in 2010 Badger (or at least send them off on holiday & put their stuff in the shed for the duration) - aren't you in the right area to make silly, silly money for a couple of weeks?;)

    Badger_Lady,

You seem a cheerful soul and want to put people at their ease, but this can backfire when you need to show a bit of authority.

Lodger 2 (because he was allowed to help choose the new lodger) feels that his status in the house has increased and that he now has authority over Lodger 3. Lodger 2 sees the house as a house share, rather than renting a room from you, and he is definitely seeing how far he can push you.

If you are not firm with him, then it will get worse. If he cannot have respect for you and the house, then he has to go. Simple.

What's wrong with lady lodgers? It doesn't matter if potential lodgers are not "great, fun people" - you should be looking for quiet-living, respectful people, not the Liam Gallagher types that you seem to attract. :p

I think the main problem is that I'm not quiet, neat and respectable myself! Most girls would despair at my lack of washing up, and would rehang my curtains so they don't droop any more...

The girls that have viewed the room haven't just been boring though, they've been frankly rude - very few apply, but the last one kept negotiating me down: "It's too expensive, I'll only pay £280", when I already had two lads desperate to be chosen and more than willing to pay £300! Like I said, there must be exceptions out there, they just haven't been forthcoming.

I'm happier with it being like a houseshare - I've never enjoyed being either a Landlord or a Lodger in a "I'm in charge, you have to tread on eggshells" house...

Anyway, Lodger3 has spent all day today apologising. He cleaned the bathroom out before doing anything else, and is buying me a replacement bottle of whisky! He swears it'll never happen again.
