Big Badger House (aka Noisy Lodger) HE'S GONE!

We had not spoken to the people in the house where we was stuck in the garage but they said they had checked and even left the door open several times during the two weeks but they never heard him or he did not come out. Worst two weeks of my life.
How did you find out where he was in the end?Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
The people heard him one day in the garage and used the free phone number to call the helpline who called us. It was 9.30pm and I ran the 5 houses up the road (we ar in a cul de sac) and I could hear him too. He would not come out initially but with some kit it's he did. He had lost 20% of his weight but recovered fine. He must had had access to water or he would not have made it.
I think they had been away which is why they had not heard him at the beginning and after that he must have been to confused. I wish I had called for him when we delivered the leaflets but we didn't. Feels stupid to call doesn't it?Save £12k in 25 No 49

Poor Tufters, hope he comes home soon. I can't imagine the worry you must have (well I sort of can, my sisters dog went missing for three weeks a few years ago, but the outcome was not good
). He's not that old though at 16, my step mums cats both lived to the grand old age of 23

Yeah and my friend's cat Max lived to 30
That's what I mean when I say he's lively... some cats are old at 16 but he's not - he acts like a kitten, getting into everything and chatting away, jumping up at you in the kitchen to try and get treats. It's difficult to imagine a cat like that creeping off to go to sleep.
I just had a look at the Animal Search UK team... they need £650 to come out and spend a day searching through people's gardens _pale_ I'd pay it if I could be sure they'd find him, of course. But every news article they've released in the local paper has been along the lines of 'we made good progress'. None of the ones I've read have been conclusive.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Once you get used to playing music/TV/radio loudly, you have to get used to turning it down. If he's a good lodger, then why not talk to him, block the fireplace and put sealant around doors and windows. make sure noise making machines are kept off the floor. And talk to him.0

?? How will that entice Tufters back? Or are you a few pages behind? :rotfl:0

We only went with the posters and leaflets that was £220 and PetPlan covered the cost of that. I think the freephone number is a good thing as if the worst has happened someone is more likely to call that number than the owner.
I am sure you can do as good a job just going out their calling yourself than get a search team in.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I hope so. Tufter has been added to their database... so what's to stop me just printing up some posters with their phone number on it anyway? I've been using the local library at 15p for two

It would really, really surprise me just because he is in fantastic health for his age and is incredibly lively... most 16 year old cats I know sleep all the time, but Tufter bounces around talking and poking me with his paw and following strangers into their houses. The fact that he followed JoannaLodger halfway to work immediately before he went missing tells me that he wasn't feeling particularly old or poorly.
However, if it is the case, then that's fine! I just need to know for sure so I can mourn him. The only place he could have hidden would be in someone's back garden - it's terraced houses all around here, no public bushes or trees, just private ones.
Ooops, it seems I might have jumped the gun then as I was under the impression he was much older and in quite poor health now. I do apologise
Hope you find him soon!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Well it doesn't necessarily make you wrong - he could have been injured and then crawled away. After all, he has been playing with cars lately. He wasn't left on the side of the road and he wasn't taken to the vets, but he could have been hit and then ran away to hideMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
