Oh, at 16 with arthritis and no balls I'm not sure he's got it in him! :rotfl:

Well I've just canvassed the street between the bus stop and here and had a few reported sightings:
    - a lady near the bus stop said she'd seen a cat matching his description in her back garden. She said it was 'during the day on Wednesday', but when I referred to 'yesterday' she said 'oh it must have been Tuesday I mean.'

    - a man in the same area said he'd definitely seen Tufter in the main road (unhurt) yesterday evening.

    - a lady on my cul-de-sac said she'd seen him on our road, getting in the way of cars, yesterday daytime although he definitely hasn't been through the catflap to eat his food, so that's just baffled me now! The chap near the entrance to our cul-de-sac also said he'd seen a car on the main road stop for Tufter. Hmm.

We all suspect that maybe he's a bit senile now - all this running into roads is certainly no good. So when we find him we'll have to keep him indoors from now on. Now, I'd better start ringing round the appropriate authorities...

Poor Tufters, he's probably a bit disorientated now that he's getting on a bit. I really hope you find him, I don't like the thought of the poor old boy just roaming willy nilly. :( Hopefully his wee wander is short lived.

  • I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you tried prancing about rattling his favourite treats, or a box of crunchy food? Or even tuna (or something similarly smelly?).

I know it's obvious, but that can work for us when ours disappear for a few hours- we just keep trying.
    If it rains, it rains.
We'll be in the street, looking thunder in the face,
Singing la la la la la,
    I wont change

  • So sorry to read of your missing cat - it's a !!!!!! when they disappear for days on end. Mine usually turn up, licking their lips, having been fed by neighbours quite far up the road.

Hmm... well I couldn't sleep so I drove home at 4am. As I was trundling (slowly) up the hill, I saw a black cat dart across the road near our house. I parked the van and got out to look, and eventually found a black cat who clearly lives on the main road there. He wasn't impressed with my tracking him down.

So now I'm seriously doubting whether any of those sightings were genuine... after all why on earth would he not come in and eat the food that's waiting for him here?

Do a shed check notice. Check your own sheds and cupboards.
  • Oh come home Tufter!!!!!

    We all miss you!!!!
  • Did anyone see that news report of the cat who boarded the bus near his home and went on sightseeing trips back and forth?

Come home Tufters, all is forgiven!

I suspect that you're right and he is getting a bit senile so probably can't find his way back now that he's strayed too far to find his scent-track back home. Even blind cats can follow their scent-trails outdoors. If only they can locate them first.

Does he use a litter tray and you still have the contents? Put some outside, front and back. If no cat litter empty the contents of the vacuum-cleaner out there.
