Can you use the stuff back at home, or is it too big to transport?
LOL!
I can transport most of it OK (although the corner sofa would be a special trip). But I've got nowhere to put it at home. We're all furnished up, as it were.
Besides, I got all big statement furniture for my huge room in the squat! Water bed, modern chair, lemon tree!!! It doesn't really go in a 1920's terraced houseMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

If you can't find a home for any of your bulky stuff give the British Heart Foundation a call. I was in one of their branches this afternoon and got a comp slip with their phone number on it and they were wanting to collect donations. Several branches sell only furniture and electrical appliances0 -
So glad I found this thread I've had a lovely chuckle while reading & it brought back tales of some lodgers ive had.
Potential lodger 1: who was living with a family but didn't like all the pets they had (my ad had specified my parents dog would be there at intervals), wanted his family to come stay for a minimum of a month at a time & spent yhe whole viewing bursting into one room after the other (inc living room, study & every bedroom despite being told there would be other lodgers) saying 'they can stay in here?'
Actual lodger 1: who stayed 18 months & was an absolute star
Lodger 2: who took a few too many liberties with his girlfriend staying over, wanted to rent the garage for his kit car despite clearly seeing there was not enough parking for all our cars outside, thought that teatowels were an extension of the draining board(made it very difficult when that was the only clean teatowel) & when given notice decided to ask for proof his deposit was in a deposit scheme & threatened me with his cousin who was studying law, had to be provided with written proof the deposit scheme was not applicable as he was only a lodger & also had to give proof it really was my house!
Lodger 3: in hindsight don't live with close friendsback on track now though
Moved out the day I was going on an extended holiday, avoided giving me a date until I ran into her moving, had only wanted a date so my parents could get her keys & keep an eye on the place.
Lodger 4: (mate from work) brought in as a favour as I could see lodger 3 was going to move out while I was on a long holiday & wasn't having the best time living with his girlfriend at the time, he has stayed ever since, we're now 2 years on
I look forward to anymore updates BL & have a lovely time on your travels

How do they close a squat? Do they make the place more secure so no one can get in?0
